It's a little better than the D90. Still garbage though. Pretty much a joke compared to the 5DMk2.

you can download a 58mb video I made if you want.

    He's mine....

    S2 Pro,
Nikon 24mm 1:2.8 that came with it, all manual.
    Nikon 28-85mm with macro.
    And a cheap a$$ Nikon 70-300mm.
    Am learning but loving it.

Really bad pic taken with a horrible Olympus X-15 8mp that I regret ever getting as a point and click camera, my blackberry takes better pics than this thing

That's a "love me" lens for sure. I use mine on my D300 around my neck for sports, D3/400 f/2.8 on a monopod as well. switch back and forth depending proximity. The D3/400 rests nicely on my left shoulder while shooting "closeups" with the 70-200.

Here's a couple of soccer shots with each setup:

    D3/400mm VR f/2.8 @ f/2.8

    D300/70-200 VR f/2.8 @f/2.8

Nikon pro bodies are built like tanks. If you bought it used you might want to check the number of shutter actuations to see if it's time for service.

They do. It's called the gold series. Their "F4" lenses are the older lenses and aren't designated in any way other than some of them having etched gold stamped writing instead of paint. The newer f/2.8 revisions have a gold band around the end of the lens. Nikon's "F4" high end glass is the reason to buy the bodies with af motors. Like the 80-200mm f/2.8, 200mm f/4 and 300mm f/4. Nikon didn't release two versions when they revised the latest releases because they didn't need to. Canon was filling a void.

EDIT: additionally, Nikon originally release their gold series as a "white series" http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...278173&is=GREY
They had, 300mm through 600mm primes in white as well as the 70-200 and 28-70.

Another edit: if i could find the white ones, i'd buy them

Well, the Nikkor lens with the "Gold Ring" are classified as professional lens. They can be similar to the L lens by Canon.

And you are right. Nikon should have some more f4 lenses. Having a 70-200 f/4 will be nice for Nikon.

Why? Anyone in the market for that would buy a 80-200mm f/2.8 anyway.

No not necessarily, the Nikkor 80-200 F/2.8 cost $1100 while the
Canon 70-200F/4L cost $650, and for those of us that still want a quality lens w/out having to break out bank then this is better. Obviously having those 2 extra stops will help alot but if your looking for a zoom f/2.8 lens then you should already know it will break your bank.

I just wish Nikon have a "middle" class line of lens, instead of the cheap and expensive lens

Actually you get it for barely 600 dollars A really good deal considering the price/performance factor of the lens. I hope Nikkor will come up something like that
