Freelance sports (and some wildlife), part time job on the weekends . That's how these babies pay for themselves. Not one dime out of my pocket and all tax write offs.

I've wanted this lens for a long time. I've rented it on many occasions. F/2.8 gives you low light sensitivity and with the D3 high iso performance, I own the field. It also lets you blur busy undesirable backgrounds for daytime sports, while permitting blazing shutter speeds for freezing action. It's tack sharp edge to edge even at f/2.8, and the bokeh is awfully pretty for a super-tele.

Nah... he can save the 5DMk2 for the 16-35

oh and the EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM will go nicely with that 5D.

How's the video on the D300s? Is it usable or is it a prime example of the worst effects of rolling shutter (just like the D90 and D5000).
