My NB says 46°C. After removing chipset cooler and using MX-2 thermal grease. That one before was totaly dry.. Tough, not sure if it helped.

I guess that NB/IOH depends on voltages and except higher VTT (which probably doesn't effect NB/IOH) I have everything at stock.

Villain i noticed you got your core temp at 1.42, is that for 24/7 use? I mean is it safe to stay at 1.42 for 24/7, i always thought 1.36 was the limit.

I am looking for ssome help to get my 920 to 3.8 - 4 GHz. I have tried a few of the templates above but none of them seem to get my computer to boot. I get a Blinking dash after the initial hardware screen.
    I am using Bios P07

I would like my ram to run at it's rated speed of 1600.

I am also pretty confused by VTT. I have heard people say I shouldn't go above +200 but I see people using +300 so any hep or advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Bios Ver: Quantum BIOS (P08)

    CPU Features

Memory Bus Target Speed : 1260
CPU Clock Skew : 0 (or try 200)
IOH Clock Skew : 0 (or try 100)

Or reverse CPU Clock Skew 100 and IOH 200. Worked for me when trying to reach 220+ BCLK.

When I had ram/uncore on low speed, I could reach 210 BCLK with only +100mV (quite low CPU speed ofc 17x210).

One of most important settings in order to reach high BCLK for me was tRFC setting in memory section .. I must up it to 92 to be able to run 200+ .. you can push it up 511 if you are lazy to find working minimum. Ofc it can be memory dependant, but I'm kinda convinced, that you are not setting only memory but also IMC..

MAL1954 - CPU TARGET CORE VOLTAGE = 1.00375?? If yes you have bent pins or sumthing.. no way it can be so low..

Hi Mescalamba that worried me for a bit.....running everest and cpu-z it shows up as 1.21 core voltage, which i think is correct as the supposidly max voltage that intel advise for the 920 do stepping chip is 1.225 volts not like the C o variety that is 1.36, when i run the board at 266 ghz cpu-z reports that the core voltage is 0.98 in idle at 32 degrees, when under prime95 will hit 1.269 max and 57 degrees, anyway heres hoping and when i run it at 4.3ghz the cpu voltage on cpu-z = 1.31......mal1954

Maybe some BIOS bug or CPU isn't correctly reporting voltage.. C0 and D0 have same 1.25 vCore. If I were you, I would check it with multimeter (there are voltage reading pads up above ram slots). But probably its fine..

4,3GHz at 1.31 is very nice..

thanks mescalamba ...come to think about it i have read somewhere about reports some people had with wrong readings cant remember where and it also springs to mind that one of the bios updates fixes this problem, must have a good read again to find out where..but apart from that it runs like a dream 24/7 and has never messed around, must admit these new do steps are amazing, theres Korben43 on XCPU rinning his DO chip at 4.6ghz 1.456v .... dominator 2000 running at 2200 nand 2 x gtx295 a beast of a machine...once again thanks for your good solid advice speak again ..mal1954

I guess that G25 fixes that.. not sure tough.. maybe try P08 if you don't run it already..

But really if it works and its only reading.. don't worry about it.

And yes, great mobo.. one of best I ever had. I'll keep one until I die. Could be nice tombstone..

G25 is great, running that now. BTW, is it possible to undervolt on the BR? Negative mV adjustments would be nice...although that's technically not what the board was designed for

nice to hear from you YMMA, yes we have heard of under volts recently from korben43 when he was clocking the 975 cpu, i know you are well use to overclocking by your posts on other sites but for now i will stick with p06 bios as i am very comfortable with it untill i get a bit more experienced on overclocking, as i am still a noob at it and really dont know what i am doing, but i read loads and am learning things all the time from the greatest community of them all "the blood rage gang" consisting of all people who love this great board...P.S.i am now trying to get some cash back in the bank as my system has skinned me when i do have a good cash backup i have got loads of settings i would love to try, but i need to be in the position if things go wrong i can replace parts, then we will find out even more what this beauty can do...
