A 60GB OCZ Vertex would probably be in your price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=vertex%2060gb

Vertex and Intel X25's are the only SSD's out that are considered "good". The Intels are more expensive though.

I'd go with intel but the price on the 60g vertex is just begging you to get two and raid it.

u could get the samsung slc http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147056 but u will need a mini sata power addapter, its the best IMO under $300, and its cheaper and faster than the vertex

    +1 for the Vertex
If you really want it now, buy the 30Gb version and test it and see how it goes.

the peak output isnt high but its slc and has fast small reads and writes and has high iops

if i was going to get an ssd for system use i would get that, affter the shuttering on the v2 as a primary os drive im not going with anything jmicron even if it has cashe. if u want a 2.5" the corsair is worth the money but its 128GB only. i use my v2 for vhd files with hyperV and its great for that but primary os is bad so slc or samsung controller (or both)

Ok, can you point me to some benchmarks, because the Access time looked a little too long for me. It does however look to be very good value.

Edit: I personally wouldn't want anything Jmicron either.
