    Lightbulb Mach2 Delima

I have dusted off my old Prometeia Mach 2, but I don't know what to do with it!

It has a standard head mount on it, with socket 478 and 939 attachments. But I would like to use it on a socket 1366. Doe's anyone know if a Mach2 ST can cope with a Intel core i7 920?

Is there anyone in the UK that can change the mount for a Chilly or something similar?

If it can't be used for a i7 chip, has anyone got any idear's what I could do with it???

I was thinking of taking the compressor out of the case, and replacing it with a water cooling setup. It still looks good with its Lian Li side and front panels. (My current case is a little small to fit 1xtriple and 1xdubble rad into it )

Or would it be better just to sell the thing?

    Please

Hmm... standard Mach2 unit? Mine is a GT and is struggling to get the 920 tamed at 4-4.1GHz and 1.36V (Uncore 38xx 1.5V, Ram 19xx 1.65V),,, so I doubt a stock Mach2 (non-GT) would do well with an i7. You might get to 3.8GHz stable, but that's no guarantee again. Depends on voltages and uclk/ram... and on the heatload capability of your unit (Mach2 GT is tuned for 200W).

I would either try to get it modded or to get rid of it. Iirc, there was Marci modding Prometeias in the UK, but I dunno if he still does.

After doing some research, and about what you said about your GT struggling. I have decided to go with a E8400 instead, the Mach 2 St should coupe with this one.
However I still would like a new head mount for it, as I already have a Socket 478 and 939 mounting kit. A universal head could save me some hassle in the future. Plus
if the evap is to come off, might as well get it refilled with some better gas. With a bit of luck, might be up to GT standards!

The evaporator doesn't have to come off to replace the mount

Yeah I did not know anyone did mounts for the standard evap, until 30mins ago. Just been emailing Duniek. But I would like to re-gas the Mach 2 GT with something a little better, and while that’s being done I might as well get a better evap put on it as well. But I must admit, it would be a much cheaper option for me just to change the mount. Emmm
