Artic Silver 5 or Artic Céramique or another compound?

For CPU I'll probably use Silver, but EK quite rightly suggests using Céramique as the Artic Silver 5 can have slight capacitive effects.

What does everyone used in terms of compund?

IC Diamond! It's a to apply, but it gives you lower temps than anything else out there.

I have and use both Ceramique and AS5. I like them both. I tend to use the AS5 on processors, and the Ceramique on RAM, etc. The Ceramique is much thicker than AS5.

Yup the diamond stuff is great, but i lost all the markings off one of my cpu's, it is just barley visible now.

MX2 for me as well. Although I got slightly better results using Liquid Metal Pro, but that stuff is impossible to get off and can weld your wb to the cpu.

I typically use MX-2 but IC7 is some great stuff, but yes diamonds are abrasive and do a nice job of removing cpu print.

Think of it as a mini-lapping.

i've used AS5 and IC Diamond.
IC Diamond is a pain in the ass to apply. i dont think its worth it. any margin of error equates any benefits of IC Diamond with the simple to apply AS5.

what is that TIM that comes with Swiftech CPU Blocks in that white no sticker tube

IC7 is Best ,, Can out last the CPU when applied correctly.(must be exact when applying for best results)

AS5 works for a majority of stock to High/Medium Overclocks
" Needs reapplication after a period of use."

Ceramique..is nice for lapped IHS/HS/WB .. but does NOT cool as good under High load like As5.(cleans up easier that AS5)

MX-!! is my favoriate,, Apply correctly once and no need to apply again,,

MX-!! tolarates heat above 1.7volts . Applies very well and Cleans up nice between CPU changes .

IC7 for the Extreme Overclocker ,,
MX-!! (Easier to get a hand on) Outperforms AS5) keeping Load temps Cooler and dosnt need curing time!.

Now for the average joe ,, one can use Ceramique for Mild Overclocks or Stock applications ..

All Four paste above will show simalar Idle Temps when applied correctly.

IC7 or Mx-!! ,,they just perform the Coolest under High volts and High loads 24/7.
