    "New" OCZ XTC difference?

Hi all I'm about to buy a ram cooler for my i7 rig as my rams run pretty hot to the touch, right now I've got my eyes on the ocz xtc, however on newegg, there's 2 versions of it:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=xtc%20cooler

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835202003

since the more expensive one is out of stock, I checked the specs, and it seems identical, except the new one mentions ddr3, I was wondering if there's actually any real difference between them or just a rebadged version to charge more for ddr3. So i guess my main question is, will the older version fit my dfi ut x58-te3h8? Thanks!

strange as OCZ web site only lists one with ddr3 support too http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...ocz_xtc_cooler

Or grab 3x 60x25mm sunon 23.5cfm maglev fans and tied them together - best ram cooler I've used

I've been thinking of a DIY ram cooler as well, but seeing as I want it for 24/7 use, i need something that's secure in a tower configuration (vertical) any ideas? I also need a fan for my NB, the mosfets run hot :X I was thinking of using a spot cool for that. Anyways the ocz site has two part numbers for the cooler, but doesn't say whats the difference either. Confusing :X Anyone know the difference?

    33.5dba 60x25mm for magnetic levitation 23.5cfm fan http://www.directron.com/magnetic.html

    there's also a 60x25mm sunon 19cfm maglev fan which is 19dba

    Magnetic Levitation Fan
Our state-of-the-art multi-purpose cooling fans actually use magnetic levitation to "float" the spinning fan blade in a magnetic field to dramatically reduce friction, wear, & heat... making these fans run cooler, quieter and last longer than conventional fans! Ideal for use in any mission critical application, in applications where minimal fan noise is desired, or where access to fan installation or replacement is difficult.

Use DIY cooling system I recommend it too. I am using 2X80 mm fans tied together.
This is how my old system looked with them:

And the XTC-s at newegg should be same.

how is it secured on the rams tho? i see tape at the edges, i assume its to hold them together? But how do you suspend them in the right height and stabilized?

IIRC, the lastest (ddr2 and up) ram doesn't need too much cooling.. wouldn't 1 x 40 or 60mm fan be enough if its mounted right over it?

if 40/60mm fans aren't common i'd think 1 x 80mm fan is definately enough to cool any ram on the market that isn't OC'd ridiculously beyond spec
