    Blackops JMicron controller thwarting overclocks?

I've recently turned my blackops system into a hackint0sh, which works great, but one problem I encountered along the way was random crashes caused by having 4gb ram and the jmicron controller enabled. This was soon remedied by getting a sata dvd burner and turning jmicron off, but I'm now wondering if the same problems affects windows too. If it does that might explain why I could never get above 3.4ghz..

I used, without issues, BlackOps with the JMicron controller in RAID+IDE mode for a couple of months at 440FSB with 4GB of OCZ3P20004GK RAM.
    CPU @3743Mhz and DDR3@1760Mhz.
    EDIT1: CPU is C2Q Q9550.

How's things going with the NB temps. Under control yet ?
