    Diy CPU cooling(VGA Waterblock )

Like to go for Sub-Zero temperature cooling of CPU any suggestions..

HAVE A LOOK at my workplace

This is the TEC i got from scrapyard

I need to test it, Working or DEAD

After 1 min. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO its working. You can ice formation on it... GOD i am Lucky

Its time to load it on to my system

TEC is on it's place.....sandwich between CPU and Waterblock.....

    Result WOOOOO just 2c COOL

currently testing on AMD Phe X3, dont want to damage my Pheno X4..
Dont worry it is just a test... I know TEC can reach very low temp.. and can result in condensation on motherboard ....lead to electric short circuit on MB.

Currently i have removed TEC . i will Install this TEC with some type of Temperature voltage controller which will stop TEC from going SUBZERO TEMP.
    OR somthing else.....wait and see.....

Initially you say you want sub-zero then at the end say your going to use a controller to avoid going sub zero ???

    Otherwise looks good.

Do you know what TEC your using ?

old 65nm phenom cold bug so being above negative wouldn't help them.

new AMD 45nm have no cold bug.

I've got heat sink just like that but it's got a copper plate screwed down to it. (thermaltake TTR2 i think.)

I like all the DIY but...

I don't dabble with direct TEC cooling so I don't know what temperatures you would normally get. However I am impressed and surprised you have got such a low temperature. You seem to have a very basic single radiator, an 'interesting' looking pump and what looks to be a homemade waterblock. Am I right that you don't have a copper coldplate either? Coldplates allow the high clamping pressure required for TECs and spread the CPU heat (and make a big temperature difference).

Yap....It's a totally homemade concept.....W/C Kit are not easily available in India...Very expensive... So go for DIY W/c

LOL.... you got laugh.... this is a TEC section and all people worry about is his workbench !!!!!

Guys this is India.....probably half the things you see over there would scare the rest of the world....something excremental.

Living dangerously is a daily chore but unfortunately they have to live with it, as for the marks in his bench, he said he doesn't give a dam...and why should he, he has probably got far more important things to worry about, for goodness sake.

He seems to a pretty good grasp of eletricity and computers look seriously at his case for goodness sake.
He didn't have the luxury of a nice pre-drilled position for his PSU and doesn't appear to have any drive rails !!!

Despite the poverty and irregular electricity etc etc there are some very bright people in India and this looks to me like one of them.

He came on here to exchange TEC info let's keep it to that.....

Well that was obviously a lucky find...

Do you know what TEC your dealing with here?

They vary so enormously, even within the same physical size range.

What was the input power you used with it ?

This guy has shown amazing work on another forum. Probably one of the lucky ones going to the uber tech college there, it's like MIT in the USA and other top world universities. His DYI and IQ is way above most of us, he does it with 'stuff', and gets results.

Welcome rakesh, show us the goodies.

If the waterblock works it works, right? I'm sure a lot of people would like to see the block's internals. I'm guessing a maze style? Have you thought about fabbing a bolt-through kit for your board? Might help you get more mounting pressure since you wouldn't be relying on those retention bracket hooks. Might help you get better temps.

    Seriously though, great work!

Thanks Every one for your kind reply......It was very nice to hear from you all....

I am from a Middle Class family. Parents just supported my school studies....collage and other studied is done with my own earning....
Pc modding is like a love for me....dont have much money ..so do some modding with what i can buy...Usually search scrap yard to get some stuff to fit in the idea of modding... Luckly got this TEC, from a bluestar water cooler, for about Rs.10(some what 30 cents in US $).

Currently working in Fixing a 35amp/15v DC voltage controlled power supply for scrap....Hope to make it live soon. Then again uses TEC..
Also purchased few Noeform sheets pieces...

Hope to show some TEC cooling soon.....

    Thanks ones again.
