gee dev's are just commenting on this? Games have been expensive for a LONG time.
Coming from sega genesis where most games where 40 bucks and up..I remember the sticker shock I got when I first saw the initial N64 prices. 69.99 some 79! this was over a decade ago..they went down shortly after for N64 though
PC prices have been reasonable through the years, and lately are getting cheap. Thanks valve.

I bought it on PS3 too, it's a kick ass game alright! Haven't had this much fun playing street fighter in years, hell since the old arcade machine days It still brings back memories of playing World Warrior back in the day
I can't wait till it comes out on PC, all you need is a couple of xbox360 controllers to play it perfectly Hell when I can find some Madcat X360 arcade sticks I'm going to purchase them to use on my pc All you need is an X360 wireless receiver, they are pretty cheap to buy, $20usd I believe.

I was just in there a week ago and Crysis/warhead was normal pc game price. There are only two Gamestops that still even sell PC games in my area. Most don't. Bring back Babbage's
!!
I almost picked up street fighter IV for ps3..but waiting for the demo before I buy. Might pick up killzone 2 instead. I seriously need to get some games for my ps3..it's kinda of collecting dust here and there.

So wanting to make solid profits somehow makes Valve a "bad guy"?
Those profits pay the salaries of Valve's incredibly talented employees and has allowed them to hire more skilled developers to work on their ever growing spectrum of games.
I guess we can always do it the socialist way and have the government take their profits away for pet projects thus draining any desire for Valve to work harder to create a better product for future gamers and create more jobs.
Oh yea... that's the premise behind Barack Obama's promises of "change"....
Valve has one of the best track records for delivering high quality games within the time frames they announce to the public. Yes.... some games as of late *cough* Episode 3 *cough* are taking longer than anticipated, but considering this is final installment of the HL2 series, there is NO WAY they're going to screw it up.These type of statements are simply good publicity. People will swallow it up because it is valve, and they think valve could never lie to them. Valve reminds me alot like apple in this respect.
Why? Valve wants to sell more copies and create a larger fan-base. The best way to do that is to lower prices while keeping their high standards of game quality.I dont believe for one moment they believes games have too high a retail.

I guess you missed the following posts. I was talking about EB Games in Aus. It's cheaper online, but in store it's still going for $99.95 (at least in the stores near me). Bioshock is still $59.95 online without trade-ins: http://www.ebgames.com.au/PC/product.cfm?ID=4884

there yo go bringing intel into a amd thread again lol, if that was someone droping a dig at amd you would be crying like a girl.
Thanks to whoever said you could backup your game files.
I lurv Steam. I mean I never bought HL2 till Orange Box came out, what a friggin deal, what was that like saving more money than the package cost itself? I've got almost 200 hours of TF2. And Portal, man that is a good game. I bought Bioshock for a friend for 5 bucks, and Bejeweled for I think a buck just for kicks during their last sale. Haven't bought many other games through Steam but they are improving their third party library.
