Interesting.... I wonder where Jabtech gets their yates from? I know they have an account here, maybe he can chime in?

Just goes to show it's hard to beat those ( Petra's ) Yate Loon fans from a price standpoint.

I feel ripped off having bought a crappy Antec 120 mm 3 speed roller bearing fan in a pinch from a local store for $20.00.

Never again, i will keep some Yates on my parts shelf just in case.

For kicks I decided to take apart an old yate I have from Petras. Sorry for the crappy pics but you'll get the idea. Date code on them is 710, so I think that would be October of 2007. Still the big motor then too, the frame and hub doesn't have the harsh edges, and the blades have the gusset thingy too. In other words, nothing has changed.

Pics too. I just took these, that paper with 2/3/2009 written on was from, well, 2/3/2009

Thank you for the image Sparky. Interesting, a OCT 2007 fan from PT is still the same as the 2009 PT fan.

I linked your post over on the original thread if you don't mind.

Not exactly "new" news, though. Vapor found the YL's from Petra's vs. YL's from JT and other sources were quite different in his fan test #2, Dec. 2007.

And Petra found out before that...

Good to get some evidence that things haven't changed, now we can know what to say in response when someone asks

I have a feeling i have been getting the crappy 80m version Yate Loons because i also hear that very irritating clicky noise with some of my fans.
