This is why i love living in an igloo ( some winter fun with my e8600 b) :D

im still waiting for the rest of my X58 stuff and basically got really bored waiting, so i though i play around with my E8600 and my totally crappy piece of watercooling gear.

    the gear i used
    asus rampage extreme
    e8600
    wd raptor
    ati 1650 pro
    cellshock 14400 ddr3 2gb kit

    watercooling gear:
    aplhacool naxxxos XP cpu block
    eheim 1250
    danger den universal chipset block
and some rad witch name i cant remember

for some reason ( i guess i had a bad mount on water block or something) this was the highest i was able to get with 2 cores enabled

i desided to try if disabling one of the cores would give me more megahurzz.. and it did

and finally max stable clockspeed. 5230mhz not bad but nothing too extreme ether

the set up. even though it was -13c otside my water temps were around 5c.. thanks to my crappy rad

lol, I love it! reminds me of some things I do

    Keep up the good work.

Overclocking in my unheated Garage when it was -28c

although it was only -6c inside I still had a lot of fun!

Great Battles in the North man

If you really want to do something nice with that WC cooling and your gear, forget that rad, and instead of it try using a bucket or something, filled with water + antifreeze (the one you use for cars) + ice. You will get temps around -5 - 0oC on the CPU and squeeze some more MHz.

yep your right and i was going to do that in the first place but though it would be more convenient to use a rad ( big mistake lol) but i think i will try your suggestion soon today its -15c outside soo i think i will put a bucket of water to freeze

Winter is so boring in here

You found a way to have fun.. I was thinking the same yesterday, but dropped the idea, cause there is too many things to do first.

I see that you have found good use for that BlackOPS southbridge heatsink

I might try some oc on air in my garage.. Let's see if I can beat you
You are as good as your samples are!

sure all on auto except the vcore witch was 1.6 and the ddr volts were 2.2v.. overclocking with this board is hella easy with lower fsb settings

    update time from the igloo
i decided to change the cpu block to more powerful D-tek fuzion and instead of a rad i used ice to cool the loop down and boy it payed off
    here are the numbers

and my max cpu clocks were pretty nice 5.480 i did take a 5.5 screen shot but it seems like i have misspelled it or i forgot to save it lol

yeah this time i used a 1.5 fsbv and pushed the nbv to 1.74v i know sounds kinda high but i had the nb in the same water loop so i guess its fine.. atleast it worked in this quick session last night

Mikko.. I hope you know the CPU-Z + F7 = validation file? I guess 5.5GHz woud be easily doable.

    Is that my old chip?

vNB 1.74 is normal for me
IFX/SLI with 80mm powerful fan is quite enough for NB at max voltages IMO.
more tweak and you would do it 5.5+

i dont think i can't push it further with watercooling anymore.. the temps outside just arent cold enough yet.
here is my secret weapon i used today a pucket filled with ice and salt this got me -5c water i had to use the rad so that the salt would not get into the loop

and this is what i got with JUST WATERCOOLING a whopping 5649mhz got to love winter

    here is the validations link:http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=479102
