    Fan Wire Gauge

What's the wire gauge for the fans? 24/26?? I want to extend all of my rad fan wires about 30"-36" to route them around the inside edge of my case. Should I go with once gauge larger for the extended runs?

Most fans won't draw more than 5W, 24 gauge would do fine even over distances.

I believe the 1/8 is what you're looking for.

I also believe that the true gauge on the wires is 26, not that it makes a difference. Just FYI.

Depends on the fans. I've seen anywhere between 24 and 28 used on fans.

Good information here. I am planning to run the wires for the fans (on the rear of the case) to the front of the case where the fan controller is going.

I was wondering the same thing.

Would this stuff be too thin?

Hahah good, cos I recently bought 4 rolls of each colour, plus a dozen 3pin headers and some soldering supplies.

Last thing I'm trying to find locally is the motherboard KK header plugs (at least I think they are KK).

    By this chart:

    http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm

If i wanted to wire all three of my rad fans together with a .25 amp draw per fan, I would need 22 Gauge which is rated at .92 amp working load. (leave some overhead room) 24 gauge is rated .72 amps working load.

    Found this twist for $5...

Overpriced. Guess ill have to get it in 3 - 25' spools for $4 each. I have a few separate case fans that i will use the RPM wire.
