I would like this kit also, but want to see some benches on it, see how far past 2000 it will go, im already at 2040 mgz stable, i need something that will do 2100, or 2000+ cas 7. If for some odd reason didnt work, get them from newegg, can always rma them back.
What worries me is that it will have to run higher than 1.65 and not with the speed/timings rated. if I put two of three sticks on my SIIE, will it be stable at 2k Mhz CAS8 with 1.65v? Since we are talking about a different memory controller here and totally different chipset.

triple channel/x58/i7 is what allows lower vdimm to be used, with p45/x38/x48 and somewhat 790i, you need to use more vdimm to reach same clocks as any DDR3 on i7/x58 platform. So most like no DDR3-2000Mhz CAS8/9 at 1.65v on x58 won't run same vdimm/speed/timings on 790i or p45/x38/x48

    Slim

There is no way its going to run on your striker 2 extreme at 2000 1.65, you will probally have to get up in the 1.9 area i would think. So eva2000 are you saying it wont run on other boards x48, x38, p45,790i , i have heard of people running x58 memory on boards other than x58, or are you just saying not at 1.65v, which i knew it would never do that, but should run at 1.8-2.0 at same rated speed.

My other question is running the i7 memory at 2.0v if thats what it takes to run at rated speed, going to fry the chips ?, all the good memory being made now is for i7 x58 boards, im not ready to go there yet.

Tell you what slim, i will go to frys and buy a tripple channel i7 kit, and try on my board, and we will see what happens, how much voltage it takes to reach rated speed, and go from there, thats oneway to find out for sure, then i can just return it.

I see, but they should still clock better right? Even if its a little bit...

That would be awesome and really helpful. Finally see whats the performance impact of an nForce controller vs an i7 one.

    yep

Yeah i think they will work fine, but no way with 1.65, we shall see what a triple channel kit will do on a 790i.

Does anyone have an answer for this? In particular I'd like to know if these would work on a motherboard with lower FSB frequencies, or if they're just too much for it to handle. I haven't bought the RAM for my system yet so I'd really like to know if I should bother getting these over the Corsair Dominator kit.

    Motherboard: EVGA X58

These will never be in stock again at this price. It was an error! $245 is the price of the 3x1GB kit. The 3x2GB kit is $425...

wow andre, how did you get so greedy? most likely you don't have 10 i7 boards, so do you have those for the intension of reselling? or is it to cherry pick the two best kits?
