i wonder if we actually finished the 7663 WUs? if they move on, does that mean the other "set" was completed?
Being a system admin / pen-tester / gaming enthusiast / overclocking enthusiast, you now have me bummed knowing intel is going to be dropping out of the CPU production .

Seriously, there is a cloud following me today.

That being said, most of my cores are small and my machine is slow , so I cant really compare. Only reason I get the higher numbers is due to 15 machines folding currently lol, though i can give you insight on a wide range of processors and their folding power. Later today if I ever get some spare time I will go through and start making a table of them.

and yeah, it seems that most of the other members, the other 13 +- 2, are not that into discussions lol. That and there is no longer any interest in folding like there used to be.

And to be another debbie downer, Ive noticed this forum slowly losing traffic and isnt quite the power house we were back in 2005/2006

yea, i noticed a lot of members who have 20M+ points that no longer fold. i think a lot of them went over to WCG. (lot of activity under that subforum). it appears to be cancer and HIV specific. truthfully, since my son got cancer a few years ago (at the ripe old age of 13 - yea, that's not a typo), i've thought about it myself.

Damn, I would swap my machines over as well to help your son out, no 13 year old should have to experience that.

Cheers to him for being a trooper though since hes made it a few years with it, he must be a fighter.

Well it seems after a few months of folding on many client machines I am no longer allowed to lol. So I will be down to maybe 6k ppd once again.

^_^ been a fun race BDS, but it seems you will catch me in a few days at last

I'll probably how much lower PPD & it will drop to zero for a bit.

I'm renting a home & discovered why I've felt so crappy: black mold. Gotta love stuff so toxic it can cause brain damage & cancer, or simply kill you. At some point, I'll be moving again, 2nd time in about 1 month. No fun.

I'll try my best when I can.

Ugh, sorry to hear that you've gotta move again! NO FUN indeed, but the silver lining is you discovered it and are getting out of there!

Having lost family members to cancer, I also run a WCG client, but I continue to fold. I think that the two projects are quite different, and I remain bullish that the work that the Stanford team is doing is really important foundational research that is helping many other researchers in what they do.

    just back from vacation.

he's a tough kid, but also very lucky. the doctor said 95% of the time, this particular cancer occurs in the brain and is inoperable. my son's was in the spine. they had to remove 4 of the tips of his lower spine, but were able to remove the tumors. also, he was very lucky to live in Houston - they have one of (I think) 4 newer radiation treatment facilities called proton radiation which is much easier on the patient than conventional chemo/radiation and does not involve chemo therapy at all. thankfully, he didn't even miss a beat. they found it just before the end of his Freshman year, and he was back in school after the summer. my trip that I just got back from was to go to his high school graduation. he lettered in soccer and played the last 2 years on varsity.

Well it seems after a few months of folding on many client machines I am no longer allowed to lol. So I will be down to maybe 6k ppd once again.

sorry to hear that - your ppd will be missed!! not to worry though. soon, I will be getting that 4k TV and the extra 690 (and the 7980 for my server) to make up for any lost ppd

I'll probably how much lower PPD & it will drop to zero for a bit.

<--- i'm in the military - so I feel your pain about moving a lot (I've been at this location the longest since leaving home - almost 20 years ago). ran into black mold in Korea when I was stationed there for a year (well, rather, I was warned about it - and how to prevent it) nasty stuff, i'm glad to hear you found out about it before getting seriously messed up.

Having lost family members to cancer, I also run a WCG client, but I continue to fold. I think that the two projects are quite different, and I remain bullish that the work that the Stanford team is doing is really important foundational research that is helping many other researchers in what they do.
my dad almost died a couple years back from heart related issues (around the same time my son and sister were diagnosed with cancer). he was clinically dead for nearly 10 minutes, but thankfully the doctors were able to bring him back to us. but, because of a lack of oxygen, he suffered slight brain damage, and is now using the same medicine that Alzheimer's patients use (and nearly the same dosage). I like to think that my many hours spent folding contributed to the medicine he now uses, so I will not abandon F@H completely. but, when I get my new gear, I will dedicate some of the hardware to WCG I think.

anyway, it's good to be back. though some of you are having tough times, I hope you will keep coming back to help the cause. good luck, and God bless!!

/sigh/ i no sooner get my PC up and running (even if a temp solution) and it breaks again. after the pump just stopped pumping (rather unexpectedly) i shut the PC down. now, it won't start back up - there does not seem to be any power coming from the power supply!! (wtf over??) so now i got a 3k$ paper weight....

I'm about 99.97% sure that it's toxic mold (Stachybotrys). I've never been this sick in my life. Took forever and I moved half of my furniture myself (what a workout), but I'm in a new rental. I have to sterilize everything I own. It's a nightmare. My mother is sick too, but her symptoms are a lot worse: burning of the extremities, dizziness, ringing of the ears, general malaise, etc. Luckily, she's going to see an infectious disease specialist, although, besides decontaminating everything, I doubt there's anything he actively can do.

I just started folding again, as of today.

yea, i've been slacking my power supply seems to have come back on, but the pump is still kapoot. i have another pump, i just need to plumb it in. i'll get around to it one of these days lol. i was also going to do a project (designed around my new 4k TV purchase), but haven't started that either lol. it also looks like my new TV is on hold. they can't deliver it to me for about 3 months (shipping and back order delays). but, since i will be PCSing (moving) back to the states in November i told them to cancel the order. once i get back to the states i will almost certainly still get the new TV. but, that won't happen until later this year (possibly early next year depending on finances after the move).

the project i was going to do involves building a TV stand with a PC and watercooling "system" incorporated into the TV stand. since i'm not getting the TV for several months now i guess it can wait.

lol, not to worry - been re-watching the Smallville series (on season 3 now). i want to get my PC back up and running (because gaming on my other PC sux - even if it is just Diablo 3 which isn't exactly graphics intensive). like i said: one of these days lol. and you aren't exactly doing terrible - 60k avg isn't bad at all!! i take it you still have "illegal" PC's running somewhere? or are you getting that from your machine alone?

    Awe lol

I installed it on 20 other machines friday to burn them in, the company that made the large purchase went with i3's instead of i7's so alas, my numbers didnt get too much of a boost lol.

All the same though, I did get a raise recently so hopefully I can begin to set money aside for some new parts ^_^.

    >_> although im planning on launching a website this week so mayhaps that money will go to a server .

nice, very nice!! I checked your page yesterday (when I got the most points in one day that I've ever received: 230k) and saw that you got nearly 280. I knew then that you would be passing me pretty soon lol (and you have). it's really too bad they gimp the 780 on GPGPU stuff - for the amount you pay for the 780 they could at least make it a *little* closer to Titan...anyway, nice ppd <toast>. I won't be able to top that 'till I get my 4k TV (and the additional 690 to game with on it!!)

anyway, kudos and good job!! (now if we could only catch Angra....or is that asking too much? lol)

Meh. The gimping of the DP doesn't really affect me that much. Although it would have been nice to test out some things on same Milkyway, AMD is still faster there anyways. I do plan on doing an AMD rig at some point, but will probably wait for new rigs until Maxwell and whatever AMD's next series will be in 2014/15.

Not enjoying Haswell too much, and I've read IB-E isn't going to be anything special. Here's hoping Haswell-E works out a-ok. :P
