Haha, thanks ILikeCosmosS. Np on showing the res.

I hope you do go with the TJ07! It's even more amazing in person! But either is still a fine case!

    Love your reason for editing!

    Here he is!

Charles you have been a fantastic help and inspiration with your amazing TJ07 work. If my photo's are half as decent as the ones on your site, i will be happy.

It seems fitting that after Charles has spoken i reveal my next update.

    Update

Well i have spent all of my spare time last night and some of this morning attempting to sleeve my 24pin-ATX power cable which I managed to finish this morning. While i am content with the job i did, I am not overly happy with the end result (either are my fingers ).

I found it particularly hard to get the heatshrink to slide in with the pin, it seemed to always be to large for the hole. .

I had some trouble with a few certain pins that kept on falling out. To fix this i had to use some glue and a larger strip of the Heatshrink.

Please do note that this is my first real cable sleeve attempt.

    Comment Away!

    Very nice, switch8 !!!

Your sleeving looks good. Its hard to get all the heatshrink to end up the same size ... as you say, it's a bit difficult getting it to cover the ends properly. But, when it's plugged into the motherboard, you won't notice.

Looking forward to your next update. I can't believe you have just started photography - excellent job.

Holy crap, your photos are amazing Brenton!

You're a natural my man - you've certainly got "the eye".

Very nice job on the sleeving. My only comment would be that it looks like you may not have pulled the sleeving tight on a few when you applied the shrink as I can see a bit of wire color. You really got to pull it tight and hold it until the heatshrink cools; this will ensure the sleeve stays super tight on the wire.

You did awesome for your first time brother.

Thanks Shazza, yeah, i've still got a bit of sleeving to do, so i'll see how i go on that.

    Thanks Charles!

I'll try that tip on the next set of cables i do (8pin power and 2xPCI-E cables)
If i have enough heatshrink left over i MAY even redo the 24 pin.. But for my first sleeve job, it'll do.

    Nice work Brenton!

Don't worry, my first ATX cable is like that.

Regarding the heat shrink, an easier way to get it even is to cut all of the heatshrink at the same time, it helps to get it a bit more "even."

    Keep up the fantastic job!

Ok that's it, you never told me you had a DSLR!

Great stuff, especially on the sleeving. As you've found out, it's not a pleasant experience, but well worth the end result. Don't bother re-doing it, i think it looks fine, and as Shazza said, you won't even notice once it's all in the case.

    Keep it up brother!

What did you do differently with the 8-Pin that you did not do with the ATX? Great work too!

    Thanks Nate

There were no major differences, but the technique i used was different (i let the heatshrink fully set before plugging in the pin, that solved the problem of the heatshrink not sliding in the hole with the pin). Also, the heatshrink seems to be much more even than the 24pin.
