I'd grab my old trusty 20 gauge with #2 buck in it and hope it had enough stopping power..

Might take a 300 magnum for that one. That Doe is bigger than a 12 pt Buck.

Edit: Ummm...make that a Weatherby Magnum.

yup, that's what my rack has in it too... cept #3... (20 pellets instead of 18)
only guns I have left are a 20 gauge, .22, and a couple pistols... the 20 is probably the most useful all purpose snake and varmint gun I have living in a rural area.

those wild rabid grizzly bears are a b1tch when they run around loose in the backyard.

i have nothing against slugs, the only problem with them is you have no shot spread, so most hunters use them with a slug gun and sights. but I guess you're using it for a protection overkill statement in home... most people don't realize at close range, even birdshot will create massive trauma and kill wounds with no spread of the shot. plus if you've ever cleared a house with a long gun, slicing the pie is pita in rooms and halls with a long gun.

thread jack alert, supposed to be a movieman bday thread... so I'll disappear after this post.

I thought one was supposed to add another zero to their wage demands, not age.
