    Question Coolant additive question

    Hey guys,

Like everyone, I don't want algae to grow in my WC Loop. I bought Swiftech HydrX coolant aditive.

    Today I saw retrogamer1990's topic here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=216712

and now I wonder if HydrX will give me the same effect?
HydrX is UV reactive too, so I may get the same?

I also think that retrogamer1990's case may be caused by "dirty" radiator, but is may be caused by Feser additive too...

So, what experience do you have guys with Swiftech HydrX? Does it leave residue in CPU Block?

I am not lazy to clean the block, but I don't want the coolant to make it dirty

HydrX is just antifreeze but it will certainly keep anything from growing in your loop and it won't gunk anything.

Here is the best scenario that you can do...

    If you want colors:
    1. Get UV tubing (PrimoChill Pro LRT or Feser), if you dont want UV, just get Tygon 3603 tubing.
    2. Go to super market and buy Distilled Water
    3. Go to PetrasTechShop and buy PT-Nuke.
    4. When filling your loop, use 2 drops of PT-Nuke and you will be fine.

I dont mind colors, so I already got Tygon 3603's.

So you recomend PT-Nuke over HydrX yes? and you confirm that HydrX will leave some residue in CPU Block and Tubes?

I can order PT-Nuke but there is a little problem, I live in Republic of Georgia and PetrasTechShop is in USA, the whole shipping process will take ~15 days

So PT_Nuke -PHN will do better. Thank you for your posts

I am still interested in HydrX's residues. If someone has such experience, please post.

The hydrx is fine and you might as well use it since you already have it, no matter what you do your tubes are going to discolor but the hydrx won't actually gunk anything up. Don't get TOO freaked out about what biocide you are using, the use of hydrx won't cause the needless slaughter of innocent puppies or anything...
