Why don't all radiators have one G1/4 hole on the backside.

It's one of those things that would make life a lot easier for us watercoolers.
For those of us that want to put the radiator flush to the roof, a reverse hole for a top drainport would make life a million times easier.
You pretty much can bypass the reservoir and it makes filling up the case a breeze.

I know the new swiftech radiators have the fillport toward the back, but not on the other side.

So simply put, 2 threaded holes on one side, like a standard radiator, but 1 additional one behind it for linking directly to a top fillport.

That is a really good idea. Would definitely like to see that as well as it would make things so much easier.

This is a tough call for me...
It has its pluses and minuses.

For me, filling up the loop is always a PITA. Putting the port right at the top would make that part a million times easier. Like you mentioned, you could pretty much bypass the reservoir/t-line, but there could be some issues...

-Which end of the reservoir should it go on?
-Manufacturers would have to standardize this location, otherwise you could end up with holes in the top of your case when you switch radiators.
-The fillport would have to be recessed and/or it couldn't be attached to the top of the case, otherwise you couldn't easily get the top on/off.
-I could make topping off a little tricky since you don't have much space for water column. It could also make knowing your water level a little difficult.

I'm just playing devils advocate here.

That said, I think it's an excellent idea, but one best left for DIY'ers and not manufactures.

Ultimately it would have to slightly further away from the rad grill holes.
On some radiators it might not work because the area where the rad hole is has to be slightly less deep than the area where the fans are.
That way when the radiator is essentially flush to top, there still is some space for the hole to have threading and mount to the top with some type of fillport or direct fillport t radiator.

You probably could have it at both ends with a thin plug on both sides.

I think they should have two threads on each side. Should work for the fillport-idea as well as sandwiched rads and generally opening up more options for tubing.

The only design I have seen so far that employs that is the Monsta rad. Would like all rads to have that design that is for sure. For me especially the BIX..*wink wink*

yep, i also have thinked of that for radiator, hoping wiil be a radiator like that...

4 thread in every radiator corner will be nice , i guess it will give more flexibility to put the loop, especially for drainport that will be come in really handy

Can you provide a bit more information? What's new? I'm already planning on a MCR320-Res and a few MCR320-QPs because I will have lots of mounting room.

Ive been thinking about drilling and inserting a lager bung hole for my pa120.3 to make filling easier.
Since i dont use a res or T-line.
