    I7 965 and E8600 in the Mini-Cascade + 2 Stock EVGA GTX285 - Some 3D numbers

Did some quick benchs with the EVGA's GTX285 and I'm quite impressed with their overclocking capibility.

All stock, with fan at auto they go easy to: Core: 750 Mhz / Shaders: 1.700 Mhz / Memory: 2.950 Mhz

Here is a photo of the setup:

    Aquamark

Next I will put the cards with E8600 + EVGA 790i on the mini-cascade to play my favourite, already find to force the install of the 177.xx drivers so no Low CH Bug

I hope my card will do the same speeds ( though I doubt it :p )

    Nice work Pedro
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

OK, finaly run my favourite game with 2 stock EVGA's GTX285 with old EVGA 790i and E8600 on the mini-cascade.

    Setup:
    - E8600 cooled by the mini-cascade
    - EVGA 790i Ultra SLI
    - 2 Stock EVGA GTX285's Stock
    - 2x1GB Corsair 14400 c7
    - Silverstone OP1200W

Unfortunately without mods or extra-cooling on the chipset this 790i mobo cant pass 5.9Ghz..

Anyway here it is the result..

    Compare link http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9462872

Anyway 122.5K not bad for stocks cards and just 5.9Ghz

Note that 177.xx drivers must be forced installed in order to avoid the low CH bug .. with 177.xx drivers cant get 420 CH which is quite decent for this cpu speed ..

As usual I share all my tweaks .. Here they are:

    LOD: 4.9 all tests

Used my usual running order: LH, LL, CH, DL, DH, CL, Nature.

So need to need for PM's it's all here

Enjoy the best game ever : 3Dmark 2001

Here is a small improvement due to a bit more tweaking

CPU on the mini-cascade - EVGA GTX285 full stock..

    Compare link http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9464555

CPU just 5.9Ghz - 590 seems the limit of this unmoded 790i ..

    123K

    1.800's Nature - stock cards..

    AM3 results with E8600 @ 5.9 are worst the I7 965 @ 5.0 ..

    you are joking

590 is very much for a unmodded 790i
my one can't push to 530 MHz FSB

Very nice work pedro!! (as usual)

And that 790i board is very nice!! I tried 2 evga 790i (maxed at 550 and 530) and a Striker II Extreme (maxed at 510).

    looking really good Pedro

shame the board cant do 600MHz FSB or is it the cascade do you think?!

have you tried to relax P1 and timings. That's what i did with mine and it ran 6GHz '01 no problems

i'd love to compare these with the GTX280 stock cards i benchmarked on my old ultra board

i'm sure the 100MHz on CPU will make a big difference as well as those amazing RAM clocks and shader you are getting
my run above was with 6GHz on CPU

i wouldnt be surprised to see 127K from you

    Thanks all

Yeh it's my favourite game indeed, that's pure tweaking fun..

In Car High for instance (one most tricky tests), a good tweaked run cam make a good diference..

These GTX285 are quite easy to OC with stock coolers, with vmods and better cooling we may see > 2.000 Nature

@Dinos - I try almost everything (P1/P2 not enable, relaxed timmings), but seems this unmoded 790i can not reach 6Ghz .

i have to say that out of 3x 790i boards only one could do this

it is a chipset thing it seems

is your board modded...if not mod the NB and stick some subzero on it ....you will get some extra MHz

pretty sure vince's 620MHz FSB board would have been a one of a kind.....no disrespect to the great OCer

    Looks great.

Any ideas about getting around the car high issues on the 295? 177.41 driver forcing completely unsuccessful?
