    Windows 7 - native 16:9?

Just wondering if Windows 7 will support native 16:9 widescreen format?....in terms of the OS itself, as in Desktop etc?

Bought a new 1920x1080 24" LCD and was wondering if the new OS would support such resolutions as standard.

Yeah it would, why wouldn't it? Screen resolution in Windows is almost entirely limited by your graphics card (and the bandwidth available on the interface). Windows 7 loaded up 1680x1050 for me while I was installing, and it's supported in Vista so yeah it'd work.

This is handled by your graphics driver and not windows. So as long as your graphics system can do it, Windows shouldn't get in the way.

FYI, I've tried Windows 7 with both my 16:10 and 16:9 monitors and the resolutions are displayed in Windows 7. Looks sharp and no jaggies.
