    ive tryed to get this working for a long while and its no go for me at all followed instructions voltage control dont do anyhthing for me i hope something more simple will come out although my card is BFG so no go when this cums out anyway.

    Many many pages ago I tried to warn you guys. It can be done, but it's not easy. For those with some experience in coding (which is NOT my forte') it can be troublesome, but can be done. I used to mess with stuff like this years ago, but I started cutting stuff because it was consuming all my time. Alot of it was wasted. With the EVGA vTuner coming I knew right then to wait it out before all this RT stuff even got rolling. Command line and C coding is fairly advanced stuff. It can be powerful, but without knowing all the particulars and the differences in cards ahead of time it could go around in a vicious circle and this thread could keep going into the 100's of pages and there would be more problems than success.

    I'm not really speaking directly to you dan, just speaking in general terms as your case is not unusual.

    Not true, this mod does not take any programming knowledge. This is simpler than day one of a C class lol. What it takes is patience and the ability to follow directions.

    Depends on how you approach it though.

    I would personally use a config file that allows you to set params like BUS_NUM, BUS_OFFSET, etc and then read it in to the app. Reading configs is a bit more difficult than day one heh but yeah you're right it's not hard at all.

    Edited my BIOS after some heavy testing, reduced 1,19v stock 3D voltage to 1,13v (everything still works perfectly) and saw a reduction of about 4-5 amperes in consumption as well as over 7 degrees celsius while gaming/benchmarking. Yay!

    Mind if I ask what clocks you have set in bios for Performance 3D clock table?
    If you keep below 670 core, 1404 shader then 1.13v will help you drop temps a bit, you may be able to go slightly lower too.

    2D voltage for 200 core, 400 shader only needs around 1.03-1.05v
    3D low for 300 core, 600 shader only needs around 1.06-1.08v
    3D perf for 602 core, 1296 shader should only need 1.10-1.12v.

    My original reference 280 bios was using 1.03v, 1.06v, 1.11v I believe it was.

    All the later EVGA bios (bios version ending with greater than 80h)all seem to have 1.06, 1.11, 1.19v for the values set.

    If you guys want any 260/280/etc bios modding done let me know in a PM and I'll give you a hand or modify myself. I can help you out set up Automatic Linear Fan Control through the bios if you are a bit confused, the default method of Dynamic fan ratio is hardly acceptable for anybody overclocking on reference cooler.

    I'll post up a Nbitor screenshot of my bios too later on for reference and a quick reference for the values.

    To get an idea of what I mean my fan duty is set to 50% minimum, Tmin where the fan duty begins to ramp vs temperature begins around 43-44c, by 56-58c fan duty is at 100%, and begins to drop once temp falls. Also I've set up the ramp rate to be gradual to make it next to unnoticable.

    The clocks i'm using for 3D are 702/1235/1525 and it works perfectly with only 1,1250v. I made a video but didn't come out good, somehow reversed the order of the scenes, but might give an idea:

    EDIT: Card works fine in Windows with just 0,8v but i didn't get any power save there by dropping from default 1,03 nor less idle temperature (about 30ē watercooled).

    Hi, there folks sorry to sound stupid ive got this app up on screen and not sure FOUR hex values to put in im left with..12C 03 70 15 >44 -12C 03 70 16>36-12C03 70 17>35-12C 03 70 18>31. so which 4 values i need to put in ? thanks for help in advance

    12C is I2C i'd say. I2C is low pin count serial bus that uses 7bit address'.

    -12C? Is this I2C access switch for program?

    so basically 15h is located on I2C bus 70h offset 03h, which is what Volterra use in most cases so to not conflict with other electronics which also use I2C to read/write registers which control assert/deassert of pins.

    70h = I2C UNIQUE BUS ADDRESS for Volterra VT1165/1140 VR serial access

    00-03h = BUS OFFSET on I2C bus 70h, 0h 1h 2h 3h. 4 Offsets which can holder register addresses.

    15-18h hold VID values, the one which holds the largest hexadecimal value will be the 3D Performance VID.

    You need to convert the value you read to decimal with a hex/bin/dec calculator.

    ie. 0Fh = 16 decimal
    1Fh = 32 decimal
    2Fh = 48 decimal
    3Fh = 64 decimal and so on.

    00h = 0, 01h = 1, 02h = 2...09h = 9 0Ah = 10, 0Bh = 11, 0Ch = 12, 0Dh = 13, 0Eh = 14, 0Fh = 15

    HTF do they restrict it to "registered" users? I understand if it only works on EVGA but you can't keep it from working on an unregistered EVGA card.

    Well guys I'm writing up a backend for my own voltage editor using RT API for access. I'm writing in C as thats my preferred language, so if there is anybody who is good with C++ and ATL/MFC for UI I'd be happy to give the back end to them to write a UI for. UI isn't my piece of cake. Might take a day or 2 to finish writing, gonna be busy with work.

    Well, we went from the EVGA Voltage Tuner which was the subject of this thread onto Riva Tuner, then onto RT Advanced Command Line stuff, then into all the different chip versions, then into coding and recoding, then into the issues with RT not working for some and why, then into C programming and GUI stuff, then into Sliders, and then into many branches of different people making different programs.

    I should've dug up that trainwreck pic I had on another 'puter where a track switch went wrong and one trian went in two different directions at the same time.

    It's all cool though. I was just being a smart butt trying to be funny.
