Talking Liquid Helium benching - Las Vegas XS OC event

    Hi all!

This thread is a bit late, but Team Finland have been Xtremely busy last few weeks. We like to show you some pictures and final results from the XS party in Las Vegas 10th of January 2009.

First we like to thank Simon for taking care of us and making this event possible. AMD crew really did all they could to make our stay pleasant and overclocking as fluent as possible.

We had tons of hardware to play with and there have been rumors about handpicking. There have been some bad talk about 120 CPU's used to find these we used in the event. Yes, we had that amount of CPU's, but we tested maybe 10 of them totally. Those who were there, understand how little time you have to fully test some CPU under LN2. We did broke some DFI motherboards and the DFI quality seems to be the same it have always been

OC Crew in pictures: Macci, Pete Hardman, Sampsa and Me.

OK.. enough talk.. then some pictures.

    Preparation Day:

Then Day 2 and the LHe show

    Then we have some results

Full picture report from here: http://plaza.fi/muropaketti/artikkel...la-269-astetta

Thank you for watching! Team Finland will be back

Wow the photos rock! This is some next level ish, I'm impressed.

Does that withdrawal device control the flow of the helium into the pot?

Good stuff guys. It's nice to work with people in the industry and see people in the industry work with the overclocking community. Great things can be done if we all work togather. Nice Results BTW!

So liquid helium really does a good job? I was wondering because I've never seen anyone using it before and the needed energy to vaporize it is far below liquid nitrogen (ca. 66 fold iIrc). Seeing how fast LN2 can run out using liquid helium doesn't make that much sense to me.

Or was it just for the *bling*, to show the Phenom II doesn't have a cold-bug?

    Nevertheless: good results
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks

    Nice pictures!

Is there a specific reason why you ended up using the 790FX instead of a 790GX? From the pictures, it seems you had booth boards.

Hyvin tehty pojat! Quad Core @ 6.5GHz and @ 6.3GHz benchable is almost unreal.

Who would have thought AMD would be able to whitstand -242C say 2 years ago, you'd be taken for a fool.

EDIT: I'll be holding a speech about overclocking in school next Tuesday, I will be sure to include some words about you and your achievements.
