All in all, you save about $2 dollars, and you still get headaches from having only a 60Hz refresh rate per eye.
*waits til 2014 or so for 3D gaming without glasses*

That monitor can still do plain 120Hz, right? So I can play CoD4 at 120Hz 2d if I want to?
I'll pass on 3D. Call me when the holodeck is online.

i thought gaming was all about 3d.. ?? :P
dont think stereoscopic gaming is possible without glasses/contacts..
btw.. that link shows only the kit which doesnt include the lcd monitor.. ?? or did i miss something ??
not a bad idea for a 3d package. since autodesk and the whole animation industry is switching towards stereoscopic gaming.
edit: ah its a SamsungŪ SyncMaster 2233RZ

The problem with the 3D displays is the cost and the high price (probably we're talking maybe 600~$700 for a 22" TN 3D panel so they wouldn't be selling enough to be worth it), bringing 120Hz monitors is the cheapest solution that also offers a benefit when not gaming in 3D. Well the glasses aren't exactly cheap right now either, don't know why they have to cost a fricking $199 but oh well I'm not gonna buy those anyway but if the 120Hz LCDs again are decent I might retire my CRT.

Well the glasses cost 199 because of the technology imo. They have basically mini lcd screens in them.

I don't know how to link a certain time in youtube videos but they talk about the tech in this video of nvidia's new 3d bundle

Which panel does this use? I didn't see a reference to it in the specs.
.
I saw this in use at CES and I have to say I was very impressed, at the moment there are only two monitors that are capable of running the glasses, the afore mentioned Samsung and also a Viewsonic 22inch 120hz monitor.
Samsung are also developing a 24" screen as well (it looked good at CES but no release dates as yet).
All in all I am giving this my for sure (in fact I will be getting it when it comes to the UK).

All I want is a 24" 1920x1200 120hz monitor.
Give a 22" Samsung LCD a new name, add to bundle some cheap glasses like you used to get on old cinema theater and you got another way of selling Crappy TN panels at the price of a decent LCD (One with *VA panel). 400 $ for a TN and some weird looking glasses, they can keep. I have a lot of 3D games and I know/see they're 3D, don't need this joke for that. Or will that make my 2D desktop look 3D? Cause even that is available: http://www.real-desktop.de/index.php...ge/English.txt
do i need a new mouse to use a 3d desktop, how would i get the file into the trashcan?
Wow, that is just awesome. Gimicky, but awesome.
I thought that monitor wasn't supposed to be out until April
