just a quick word on this game. its BRILLIANT. if you have a wheel there is no game that touches it. i replayed gtr2 shortly after buying and playing evo for a few hours straight. huge improvements in the menus, especially the set ups. the multiplayer server options are improved. it sadly uses steam, which slows loading down slightly, but does help with finding servers, and the stability of multiplayer connections compared to gtr2.
the graphics are improved slightly. still not as bling as GT5 (even though i am still to be convinced that GT5 is really that pretty in game. no arguing that its stunning in replay mode) but the graphics are very efficient in what they do. and most cards should be able to easily hold a vsync with high settings.
driving is improved over gtr2. cars feel more 'real' and the feedback with a wheel is excellent. the only game to match and perhaps better this game with physics is rfactor. however this game looks old, and is an absolute pain in the arse by comparison with multiplay set up etc.
on a side note, the hdr plugin that is compatible does improve the atmosphere of the races, and does improve looks. after a lot of playing with the .ini i got some decent results while still holding vsync.
here are some links to some shots. motion blur and depth of field are enabled, but not a silly amount.
