Don't think he needed it though after all that intense benching.

P.S. The snow is only beautiful if you don't have to shovel the crap.

I dont think so. The 295 is essentially two '285, so 4 Vs 3 with some clock difference, I dont think the 285 can pull it back, not in Vantage.

NO lol... 295 is two gtx 260's on 55nm with more cores and performs slightly better than two gtx 260's in SLI, and performs worse than two regular gtx 280's in SLI...

The gtx 285 core performs about 10% better than 280 and clocks alot higher, 3ghz on the mem's on aircooling. There's no doubt 3x285 performs better than 2x 295's...

Looks to me that 3-way scales better than quad on vantage if these results are accurate

3 GTX285's Tri SLI will pretty much scale the same as 3 GTX 280's Tri SLI. Remember GTX 285's clocks are higher than GTX280's clocks. But most of us who bench clock our GTX 280's to, and beyond what the GTX 285's clocks are. When both of these cards are clocked the same they perform pretty much the same. Unless voltmods or extreme cold allows the GTX 285's to reach levels no GTX 280 could, I doubt we will be seeing many surpassed GTX 280 TRI SLI scores.

I completely waved off the GX2 at the time but am giving the pair of 295s I have now a chance upon the upcoming "Classified" board since I'm betting on driver maturation breaking new ground, let us hope

Not really, the 285 can reach alot higher clocks. And when concerning as much as 3 cards.. It will matter quite a bit.
