    2 EVGA GTX295 : First 3D numbers

OK, it's January 8th here, so I guess the NDA is over.

Here are the first 3DMark numbers with 2 stock EVGA GTX295

It is not possible yest to publish GTX295 scores in the ORB - don't recognize the Graphics Card say its 'Generic VGA'

I'm using the dam Vista of course for QuadSLI, with 185.20 drivers.

The drivers are quite new and of course perfornance are expecting with next drivers..

    OK, let's see the results.

    I7 920 Air Cooled

For the firts contact I do an All Air run

    Setup:
    - I7 920 @ 4.2GHz Air Cooled (True Copper)
    - EVGA X58 SLI
    - 2 x EVGA GTX295

32K Vantage with air cooled I7 920 seems promissing

    I7 965 @ Mini-Cascade

    Setup:
    - I7 965 Cooled by the mini-cascade
    - Rampage II
    - 2 X EVGA GTX295

    Photo:

    3D Mark Vantage

Low clocks there is obviously margin for improvement..

    3DMark 2006

    3D Mark 2003

For 2005 have to reinstall the dam Vista .. with XP can run 2005 at near 5.2Ghz and with this Vista giving all sort of problems above 5Ghz.. :-(

Next will do some single cards - did a very quick test in My Favourite Game with a E8600 @ 4.4 (not even secure de cooler) and Nature reach near 1.500 - think is time to remonunt E8600 with Rampage Extreme in Mini-Cascade

Hope your enjoy this quick 3D runs of the GTX295

Looks sick. Does much heat come out of those metal fins on top of the card?

No, not all - in fact the cards are quite cool - around 40ºC idle / 65ºC load

Yes - single Silverstone 1200W is more than enought.

The power consumption of the GTX295's .. a friend did some tests with complete PC (Quad Core Q9550, Vista 64, sigle EVGA GTX295) here the consumption with PC in idle :

    Just 145W !! - that's very environmental friendly

To the OP..Your loosing a lot of bandwidth running those 295's that way. The bottom white slot is only going at 8X

You probably already knew that but just thought i would point it out.

Pedro, do you have the USB key in when benching? If so, did you check to see if it has an effect on Vantage? What about with Readyboost?

Is the GPU score in vantage scaling with CPU?!??

Other scores...not great, CPU bottleneck no doubt.

    Thanks for sharing!

Also-> *shock* that you're the first to share, not Vince!

They are saying you should have 50A on the 12V line for a single 295gtx, and the 620HX has 60A. So it looks like YES! Which makes me happy, because I also have the 620HX, and am looking to do an EVGA step-up.
