Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.
Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.
Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.
Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.
Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

Ok this is my first attempt at overclocking this system since I got it. The system is listed in my sigtag.
System Cooling: stock
CPU cooling: push/pull air.
FSB Freq: 272
Dram Freq: 1440
CPU/NB Freq: 2700
HT Link spd: 2160
CPU volt: 1.4s
CPU/NB Volt: 1.4
CPU VDDA: Auto
Dram volt: 1.7
HT Volt: 1.28
NB Volt: 1.28
I did not touch the memory at all.
Just to preface all of this. I am a very new overclocker, and this is my first real attempt at this. So any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Well I just got done with OCCT and during the process, the CPU temp increased to 51c. I probably get that lower, but it is a pain to remove the case from the cabinet.

Xerran, what is your RAMs? And how much modules? I have your MB and waiting at x4 955 BE and must buy any 1066MHz RAM. I heard, with 4 modules 1066MHz can be troubles...Thx

nope havent tried lowering the NB lol ill have to try that
im sure this has been asked before but, what is the highest 24/7 voltage recommended for the PII 940BE?
also running my nb lower than 2600 dosent help my clock speed what am i missing guys?

my NB is 2600mhz, my HT is 2000, and my ram is 1066 corsair dominator, i turned off the "secure virtual machine" , C&Q, i tried the ACC on and off didnt help. i have water cooling triple 120 with an EK block. temps run about 110F full load.
amd themselves specified 1.55v as the max for high end aircooling if i recall rightly.
<1.5v should be fine anyway - ive not seen many amd cores killed with volts, a few imc's by excessive ram volts but thats usually been fixed in later revisions (eg original clawhammer cores)
