havent seen any DFI boards yet. *EDIT* just posted right before me with the board i was looking at getting. Would like to see some AIR results from that board with 2x2gb ram.

nice honda whats the stock voltage? cause it looks like you are running pretty stable with a .15 undervolt. what was your difference in the temps?

what are your temps on stock clocks, stock voltage?
Just got my Phenom 940 in, stepping cacvc ac 0850bpdw. Have it hooked up to the Vapochill LS, gonna play around once I'm sure everything is good.

Everything I've done is with my vapo plugged in. Classes start Monday so I don't exactly have the room at the dorm to fidget around with setting up a vapochilled pc after working with some air cooling. Right now I need to go and find the new entries for the list, and can you guys please remember to at least post your steppings when you post everything? Its a pain to understand the results unless you include it because we're trying to see what steppings are best.
@ Sgt.McRuff - I need a screen of Prime95 or OCCT to put it in the stable list
@ iandh - I just need your stepping if you have it handy. Your stock voltage is actually low, its supposed to be 1.35v unless you just got a really good chip or something. I think you may need an upgraded bios before your troubles are over.

Not much to say right now.
I think I ed up my paste job and temps are killing me. This chip has more in it--it was prime stable until temps were above like 63C for half an hour. I tried 3.75GHz.
Anyway, I have a Prime95 stable result for you. I ran it overnight at a conservative set of settings to establish a baseline:
8h54m (user canceled)
3610MHz (225 x 16)
1.45V vCore
NB 2025MHz
Load temps were about 48C. You should really, really, really track load temps in your chart btw. If people with lower temps are doing the good results, that's really significant information.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.
Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.
Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.
Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.
Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.
Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!
Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.
load temps are nice but they can vary from cooler to cooler, from different ambients, etc.

Oldguy932 I will post stepping when new hardware arrives...
Well, this doesn't make sense. I just insulated the socket with paste. Before the core temp would never move from 0C, but now its sitting at 2-3C. I'm thinking that the paste needs to set on top of the cpu, or I didn't get enough on the cpu itself. Socket temp according to speedfan is the same as it was. Maybe it needs to cure or something, I don't know, but I don't like it.
I'm also retrying 256x16 @ 1.575v right now. Core 2 gave me an error after 1:04 so I'm hoping that it was because I hadn't insulated.
@chew - The number was 154, so its not a cherry chip, but its also not like one of my 3xx ones that I have sitting around of other cpu's. Should be pretty good.
Not much to say right now.

I think you might want to try with a little less vcore. Unless you got one that was like on the edge of the wafer, it should take 1.4v at most for that. Also, don't try for stability with anything above the 17.5x multi on that board, it just doesn't work yet.
Updating in the next few minutes.
Edit: Nevermind that, I forgot you were running x64.

Clearly I'm not grasping all these new K10 variables right. I thought I'd hit a limit if I put everything else down and upped the bus speed. I reached 300 with no issues.
Impressive bus speed that's for sure. Tbh it's a lot like the base clock on i7 chips, it doesn't really do much to help peformance so most people keep it below 250.
Most of us are just doing straight multiplier overclocks since its unlocked
For the record Im having issues with multipliers as well except for me its anything above 16x, oddly enough it feels like the lower I put the multiplier the more stable the chip is for some odd reason...as 15x versus 16.5x seems stable with .5v less at the same speed which is weird.
That aside this chip refuses to go above 3.7 no matter what I throw at it, thankfully I'm content to just leave it there for now and play with the HTT clocks. I havent tried with 15x yet Im going to go do that now and see what happens.
EDIT: No go, sadly my ram isnt going to cooperate with this little experiment. Either I drop the multi of it down and then my board wont post 300+ or I go out of spec of my ram and it BSODs.

This K10 architecture is new to me and it's a long time since I overclocked anyway, so I'm stabbing in the dark. I'm trying to follow old methods, which is to turn all the knobs down and then turn one knob up to find the max. I do not think the 300 is realistic when I turn the other knobs back up though, not from the other clocks I've seen. But what do I know
anyone know a good bios for the K9A2 plat, im stuck with 10x NB multi on the 1.6 and i dont know of any flasher besides their Live update one, which only gives me the 1.6
