Few pics of the Rex on track

Last Friday (2nd Jan) my friend decided to hire out a small sprint circuit for a group of 6 of us. It was only a small circuit, but was my first taste of taking a car round a circuit. Ive got a few pics of me playing here.

I averaged 9.5mpg, I did 19miles getting to the circuit, 22 round the circuit and 3 getting back to another fuel station, and it took 22 litres or so ......haha.

Was great fun and I cooked my tyres a little even though it was 2c out there for most of the day.

The other cars that were there were 3 tigers (look like caterhams and go like stink, 200+bhp and about 550kg) a nissan pulsar that was stripped out and about 350bhp and a Pug 205 with a gti 6 engine in, that was rapid, it was stripped out as well, I think it weighed in at 880kg with about 170bhp. So I was the underdog with 1330kg+ and only 231bhp. I came last on the timed runs but I was only a second off both the pulsar and the pug and about 7 seconds off the best time with a tiger ! But as I pointed out I had heating, heated leather seats and was sat in comfort and warmth for the 100 mile trip home....lol

If I get that GTI, I'd love to do that wth it.

Say... how do I find out where I can do something like this where I live? Later in life, I plan on buying a real sports car and race as a hobby. I haven't decided if I want to rally or track race... maybe both? Eh... I'd need two different vehicles for that. That's why I feel I must decide. I've always wanted a GTR though... but driving through mud, rocks, jumps, creeks, ice, and snow... FUN! I'm like a little kid when it comes to that kinda stuff. The dirtier the car, the better.
This cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions, twists all our arms collectively, but if sweetness can win, and it can, then I'll still be here tomorrow to high-five you yesterday, my friend. Peace.

Nice shots of that Rex, and I'd do bad things to have one of those Pulsar GTI-Rs.

Dont you start....I get that all the time from my mates...I would love to go but I think it would have to be on one of the bikes as Im far more confident and capable on a bike.

RX= rex always has and also will....not just for the RX7 but also for the RX2, RX3,RX4 and RX5...not sure if there was a 6.

Althought the RX8 is "underpowered" its great on a tight twisty course, the pics of me hanging the back out is with a little clutch assistance as there is loads of grip available otherwise which makes the car very controlled and balanced when flicking it about.

Most definitely. A car like the rx8 doesn't deserve to share a name with those two...

    I have 2 sportsbikes......

    Ive got a 1996 ZX7R(had since 2004) with 119rwhp and a 2008 ZX10R.....earlier this year I swapped an old RD125LC for a CBR400( sold 2 months ago to a friend) and I part exed the KTM Duke 2 for new 10R. I like my bikes I do... ;-)

I would say I do about 10k miles a year on the bikes between them.

Nice and yeah I put about same on my bike I ride whenever the weather is nice enough where I am. Those new 10rs are pretty nice. I am looking at a new CBR but I dont know if I can like the new ones like I do my 04 I just love my Yoshimura exhaust under my tail. i dont know how much horse power I got up it is close to 200 I am beating with all the engine work I have done with it. I wouldnt have a car if I didnt live in the midwest where weather is different everyday. One day its 90 the next its 50 and 100mph winds LOL

You must have done loads of work to that bike to have close to 200 at the wheel. I think the 08 10R is 189@ crank with 200 with ram air, but most standard ones are hitting about 170rwhp standard.

Wow sounds like some severe weather where you are.

O the wind part was just a joke it does get windy but not that windy. and yes I have spent a lot of money on it I believe I am cranking around 188hp from what I talked to the guy that helped me with it all. Plus I have some Carbon Fiber on it so it is a little lighter then standard.
