I have that batch.
I run on stock cooler atm (waiting on water) and do 3.6 at around 1.18v w/ HT. However, I tried to hit 4 ghz at 1.25v and it was a no post. I sort of suspect it's not a great batch.
But on my EVGA, 1.25 vdroops to 1.18, while 1.18 vdroops to 1.14 at load.

Haven't tweaked volt yet Safe to go further? Would like to hit 3.6
edit:
Just changed from x21 to x20 so I could clock my RAM to 1600, and dropped voltage to 1.152. Ran Linx and during first minute QPI link hit 11.000MHz. Stoppped Linx as fast as I could. It is set to Auto right now, which I guess is pretty stupid apparently. What should I set it to?

Well not only did CPU-Z show that QPI it 11k, but everything became incredibly slow and I'm pretty sure the test would have failed if I hadn't stopped it.
Anyway, voltage wise I know I'm quite safe, I'm speaking about the temperature. I want this chip to hold at least 1 year :P
QPI options:
5522MT/s
6748MT/s
7362MT/s
I don't know what to tell you. If you are looking for max clock now as long as temps allow, just set QPI at lowest. Once you find the CPU clock you want, then try to see if the QPI can go higher. But my board is different so I don't know what to set it at on yours.
Temp wise stock cooler, try to stay under 90ºc, under 80ºc is perfect. However knowing stock cooler is very limiting, you can do 90ºc just fine.
I currently have my system undervolted because I'm unfortunately stuck with a stock cooler until i receive my tuniq tower 120 extreme cooler.
Here are my settings atm
Under the hood:
Motherboard - MSI Big Bang Xpower
CPU - Intel Core I7 970 3.2 @ 4.4ghz/w 1.28vcore
Cooler- Intel Stock Heatsink

undervolting is great. If yours can undervolt as good as mine, you can do 3.6 Ghz at 0.9v

I didn't notice yours was a C0, in any case then thats a very good undervolt. How are your temps like that? Seems like you got a nice C0 man. Would love to see what it does once you have your new cooler
Here is my highest clock so far and best wprime run. Done with Watercooling HW Labs GTX 480, MCP655 and Apogee GTz WB, ambient temps were about 23.8ºc during the run. What do you think?
That's nice clock there Chicken Patty, I thought my chip is the only one who requires 1.5V+ to reach 4.6Ghz and I believe I can push even more, thing is I'm still on air so I can't get it prime95 or LinX stable. Maybe I need a good WC setup.
By the way I have this question: I just got another D0 and be able to run 4.0Ghz @1.28V stable compare to my current CPU now which require up to 1.33V. But with the other chip I couldn't even get it run 3DMark06 @4.4Ghz and can't even boot at 4.5Ghz regardless how much vcore, VTT, QPI PLL...I pump into. On the other hand, with my current one I can boot at 4.6Ghz in BIOS as you can see below.
As I'm thinking even if a CPU requires less voltage doesn't mean it can reach a higher clock than another that require more voltage?

THank you Travis. I say your theory is about right. I have also noticed that some CPU's will be able to clock better per voltage, but hit a wall sooner than one maybe needing more voltage.
As far as 4.6 Ghz, at that point any i7 will probably need lotta voltage to benchmark unless the temps are really cold.

during that run they got pretty high, in the 90's, but it was a lot of voltage.
Can any one confirm please is Xeon 1366 better overclocker than core i7 same speed model?

Xeon w3520 and i7 D0 both are very dependent on the weak of the production ( CPU-batch), but maybe you can have a better luck to find a good Xeon batch. My w3520 (#3848A352) is not the best batch, but is a decent/good one.
Right now it is running with OK temp on air @4.3GHZ (205x21) 1.28v (1 hour prime stable), but maybe it has been at it's best at my favorite low-volt OC @4GHZ(211x19) 1.15v ( 8 hours prim stable ).

Ok so is that means you can get a good core i7 920 D0 result like this from an avarege same speed xeon w3520 model?! If that is so then I wonder what the good batch xeon can do..

I dont think theres any guarantee you'll get a good chip just because its a xeon, but there where some very good week 45-49 xeons. Then again there where many good 920's from the same weeks, but maybe not as consistent as the xeons.
If you have a decent 920 I wouldnt buy a new W3520, unless its either a confirmed good batch (new) or confirmed good clocker (used).
PS: 16 min of prime does not meen its gone run prime at this vcore for hours

just 16 minutes, but regardless thats damn good anyways. Good job sniper.
