Phenom II DDR2, the lost memory ratio?

Just a thaught, why isn't there a 1:2.33 memory ratio? In my opinion that would be a very welcome setting since the gap between 1:2 and 1:2.66 isn't too much fun when memory tweaking/overclocking according to my calculations.

    1:1 = 200 (400mhz DDR)
    1:1.33 = 266 (533mhz DDR)
    1:166 = 333 (666mhz DDR)
    1:2 = 400 (800mhz DDR)
    1:2.33 = 466 (933mhz DDR)
    1:2.66 = 533 (1066mhz DDR)

Just something random thing I thaught of today.

I've thought many times too that it would be so nice to have that same ratio when overclocking memory. It would help to fill in the gaps a lot and make for less of a compromise when you have to sacrifice the ram, northbridge, or cpu speed to achieve a certain clock.

especially because 667 and 533 ratio do not work good at all...

Yeah so there really only is 800mhz and 1066mhz too use, and the later really can't be used stable when you try to overclock your CPU without a unlocked mulitplier, så what's left is 800mhz. The 933mhz option would be very welcome (atleast to me).

Anyone know in detail where there isn't a 1:2.33 ratio, is it even possible, or is it some jack with the K10 IMC ?

Why is there no 1:2.33 memory ratio? Because with one more memory ratio to play with the number of hours in a day would need to be adjusted.

if it was 900mhz and/or 1000mhz with that no such thing as 933mhz/950mhz memory on the market. All above 800mhz is OC and over volted ram. Other would be to system spfic and not be good for AMD and on Die IMC.

    good one.

all joking aside though, imagine if mobo manufacturers would spend the time to calculate and include hundreds of memory multis. You could literally adjust your memory to virtually any speed you like once you found your cpu/htt/nb max speeds. Kinda like the 680i chipset with linked and unlinked.

There is DDR2-1066 standard too that phenom/phenomII supports natively.
