In all seriousness though there isn't a hard limit for frame rate. When we see an object in real life we see seamless motion. The faster the motion the more blurred the object will be. On a display we don't get motion we have still pictures being shot at us. If there is something moving so quickly in real life that it's only in our vision for 1/60th of a second it'll be blurred and indistinguishable. However when a monitor is displaying an object that flies through your FOV for 1/60th of a second your eye may pick up that frame and it will not be blurred because it was a still shot.
In the movies they use the motion blur technique and it drives me crazy. I hate hate hate not being able to focus on movement in a theater. I would love to see true high definition video with no motion blur at 120 frames per second or more, but I can't imagine the data size!

heee, some of the people here are running crossfire or sli (or even quadfire and stuff that needs a 1k watts psu ), so i guess this argument is dismissed
@adamsleath: your crt uses 75w only? according to the manual my fujitsu siemens 19" is supposed to eat as much as 125w. some time ago i measured the consumption and it was around 110w, ughss.
i'm glad my tft only consumes 45w (at least that's what the manual says for max power consumption, unlike the crt i didn't measure it myself).

Yeah, some radiation but it carries a strict TCO '99 specification, which is vastly better than TCO '95 for radiation levels from CRT monitors. With my overclocking for maximum brightness while maintaining pixel sharpness (tweaking the internal monitor settings via WinDAS), it probably exceeds TCO '99 restrictions anyways!
By the way, do you smoke cigs, drink alcohol, or use regular shampoo/conditioner, or brush your teeth with fluoride rat poison, or use anti-perspirant deodorant, or eat animal meat, or drink tap water, or eat non-organic fruits/vegetables, or eat foods with preservatives? Life's too short and none of us can beat time anyways. 100 years then cancer at 101, woo hoo!
Regardless, my CRT can only do 1920x1200 at 95 Hz at the very most. 90 Hz is about as high as it can go without displaying the "near-limit" qualities like micro-jittering, waviness or horizontal draw effects. 1920x1200 @ 120 Hz .. oh yeah! But wait, will the input lag on LCD's be fixed??? Dell's 3007 had less than 10ms of average input lag but Dell's newer 3008 model now has over 30ms of lag!!! Unbelievable!

ViewSonic maybe feb-march, Samsung, march-april I think. Would have thought ViewSonic to launch a bit sooner but it seems to have gotten delayed slightly to that timeframe, that's what their response to one of the major review sites were.

They will range in price from $3,200 to $4,200, but if the reviews of their predecessor are any indicator, this will be one brag-worthy TV. More details and pics below.
LG have recently announced the forthcoming release of a new 24" LED BLU model in their range. The W2486L will reportedly offer a 2ms G2G response time, 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and offers the ability to regulate the backlight automatically. This is a nice feature we recently tested in the NEC 24WMGX3 and proved useful. Hopefully more manufacturers will adopt this feature. It looks as if the screen will be TN Film based, but further details are not known at this time.
The new screen will use LED backlighting and so will presumably offer a colour gamut of >100% of the NTSC space. The screen is greener than other comparable models as LG estimates it consumes 50 percent less power. The monitor has a black, glossy frame and has a depth of just 20 mm. The stand has a small dint at the center which is lit by a diode. In the right side of the frame there is a touch-sensitive on/off switch.LG Display have showcased a new 27" monitor panel at this years CES 2009 event. The new panel will feature a 1920 x 1080 resolution, but will also incorporate a high refresh 120Hz technology, similar to that already used in LCD TV ranges. There's not really much information about this new panel, it's specs, or how this 120Hz technology will work. Will it be an interpolation technique that we see on LCD TV's or something else? At the moment, only Samsung really make 27" panels, so this could see the arrival of IPS matrices into the 27" monitor market as well. More info as we get it.
