    (UN)Designs Extended Ascension

So I finally received my MM case and I am now starting to figure out exactly what I want to do with it.

My first impression is that there will be no shortage of room! This case is a monster.
If you look at the pic with the MM and the Cosmos together you can see the difference.
The theme for the case will be Red and Black like my (UN)Designs logo.

I am planning on doing dual loops like I have now.
The pumps will be mounted on the lower fans in the front with a red Absolute bracket on a black Z-Bracket.

The second row up will be all fans and the third row will probably have some
reservoirs that stick through the fan holes so you can see the coolant. I know two
reservoirs is overkill but I like the look.

I have three MCR320 coming in soon that will go on top and I plan on using some
Bitspower fittings. I have not decided whether to use two of the rads in parallel or run
them in series. I would like to see some hard facts about the pros and cons of each.

There will be some custom channeling for the wires as I hate seeing wires.
Also I am soliciting advice on fans. I need quite a few and I want them to be somewhat
quiet. I do plan on using a fan controller for some of the fans. I will also try and use SS
screws wherever I can instead of the Black Oxide that come with it.

This build should take a month or two depending on what custom parts I decide to make. Thanks for checking it out.

It's the first time I've noticed the anodized finish on the mountain mods.. Looks very good.
Not sure what kind of grill you are going to be going with, but I think these would look nice (mounted from the inside along side the fan, with mesh protruding out)

That case is a monster, that top panel has so much real estate for some quad rads.

Thanks everybody I am working on the grills for the front and possibly the top. Fans and rads should be in next week so I'll have a little more to show then.

I know you are going for a feature build for your pump brackets and all (which are wonderful and I own 2 3g model) but I am wondering why you use the Z bracket and the absolute in the way shown here? it seems you have ample room to just us a 3g on the floor and have the space where the pump brackets are for fans.

it is probably just the first thing you had to install so you did it just because I figured I would add some chatter to the thread though because publicity can never hurt

Actually the answer is somewhere between the two.
This is my (UN)Designs themed build and as such I want to use my brackets,
however the reason I made the Z-Bracket was to make mounting a bracket
over a fan easier and also give more mounting options.
In my case I obviously have more room than I know what to do with.
The pump however will still benefit from the airflow going directly over it.
Also I plan to mount two reservoirs directly over the pumps in the upper fan holes.
By placing the pumps directly underneath the res the tubing will have a logical flow.
So yes I could just put them on the floor but I want the benefit of airflow over my pumps too.

Did you go with the brushed or the annodized finish on the case?

    I went with the anodized.
I was going to go for the wrinkle but decided
that the anodized would be a better fit for the
custom parts that I am going to make.

BTW just got 10 fans today and started to test fit them up.
I will have some pics later.

Im debating between the Ascension or the UFO for my next build that I do... Lemme know what you think about the Ascension... looks big but very nice for lots of water cooling.

The case is very big! Although I have the extended Ascension so it's six inches deeper than the regular Ascension.
My overall impression with the case is that it is very well built and will allow me to put everything very neatly where it needs to go. If I wasn't running triple rads I probably would have gone with the Pinnacle 18 or 24.

Here is the final design for my front fan grill.

Awesome grill ... is that something you are considering offering for sale as well? I have searched high and low for something that looks good with my MM Duality front / Thermochill spacing ... drew up something like that, but in no way have the skills to make it. Was considering checking with a local fab shop to see if they could do something similar, using a spare black anodized side I have for the MM case ...

I would consider making them if there was enough interest.
There is a lot of waterjet time to fab them so they would not be cheap.
I talked to Ben at MM and he quoted about $200 per grill. I know I could do it for less. I may be cutting this on Friday so I will see how long the run time is and what the cost would be.

Dave, now THAT is the case to have!

Plus the ability to fabricate a lot more than I do in the timeframe I'm working with! Looking forward to its completion!
