    Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X [Review]

Hello guys excuse me for my English but i i would show some test with this new amazing VGA.

    VGA' s name is Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X (Launch date 26 May 2009)

The test are very quickly, and i can t do other because Sapphire has let me the vga only for a little time

Anyway i think the Test speakt it self.

This is the specification of the VGA (hope you understand the little part in Italian)

    some pics of the product

This is the Heatsink with the particulra Vapor Chamber technology

And now the VGA without Heatsink

For the Test i used this hardware configuration

    The cpu was for all the test at 4000 MHz (200 x 20) and the ram at 1600 MHz 7-7-7-20 1T (200 x 8).
in each test i make a comparative between vga with stock Frequency (870 MHz for the core and 1050 MHz for the memory) and the VGA with maximum stable Overclock without Overvolt (954 MHz for the Core and 1231 MHz for the Memory)

    Driver used ATI 9.5

    And now the test.

    Aquamark, 3DMark 01, 3DMark 03, 3DMark 05, 3DMark 06 and 3D Mark Vantage

And now the game performance that i think are very good for this VGA... the average result are about 5 frame better than the GTX275.

Crysis, Far Cry 2, PTBoat and Devil May Cry 4

And the last test for show the Heat sink performance... i think that the result is not bad because the fan was setted on auto and it gots only the 60% of the maximum rotation.

Thank you to SAPPHIRE for the sample.

Thanks really niced quick review. My only question, in the 4870 vapor x model I have there are heatpipes jutting out of the plastic shell and also a pretty thick heatsink. This looks like just a normal heatsink to me, but I am be completely wrong on that. Anyway this card idles at 45-46 degs and loads upto a max of 56-58 under furmark.

    Thanks for the review.
It is kinda strange that my Sapphire 4890 OC with stock cooler is factory overclocked to 901/1000 (4000). I wonder why they increased the memory clock but reduced the core clock? Also could you be more spesific about how did you do the game tests. What program did you use? How did you exactly bench the FPS? What was your image quality settings on the ATI CCC? I may be replicate your tests in stock Sapphire and post the difference.
