Question So, what do you enjoy a snifter of at christmas?

Thats right guys, what do you enjoy a snifter of at christmas? For me its Jack daniels (just with ice or mixed) or Russian vodka. Hits the palette perfectly for me

Alright Mr. Simpson, we just have a few questions before we begin your physical.

    Do you drink?

    - I do enjoy the occasional snifter of port at Christmas.

Have you suffered any heart attacks?

    -None. Oh, no, wait... three.
Right now I'm enjoying a snifter 'o Jameson, but usually it's tequila for me.

The only thing I drink out of the norm around the holidays is a nice traditional eggnog or hot toddy.

Single Malt Scotch. Neat. No water, No Ice.

But when I'm around the family and can't be boozin hard. I usually go with some quality beer. Either a nice Abbey Quad (Abt 12) or something dark and roasty ( Great Lakes Blackout Stout)

My normal drink of choice though, anymore is Hendricks and Tonic with Cucumber

That sounds so odd to me. Drinking age being 18 in Canada and all.

Anyways, I like a good White Russian with Grey Goose. Some good Canadian whiskey (Crown Royal, Wiser's) once in awhile, but I'm a vodka guy 90% of the time.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

    Butterscotch rum

I'm a fiend for Tequila and Martini's but anything Vodka based gives me horrible stomach cramps...

non alchy since I was 29 yrs old (11 yrs ago).. health issues, doc said stop or die... didn't help.. my liver still died 8 yrs later, but it was too late when I quit anyway, I was already on that road.. stopping just made the end of the road farther away.

anyway, the only thing I can think of that I drink at xmas time and no time else is: eggnog, hot apple cider, and homemade hot chocolate (just because I have an aunt that makes it every year, she passes out containers of it every year.. pretty good- it's powdered, mini chocolate chips, and mini marshmellows.. I have no idea what else is in it).

so how's that in a thread full of alchy's.

We aren't alcoholics... we prefer to be called "alcohol appreciators"

    Some of my favourite mixes;

JD with a dash of russian vodka, mixed with pepsi max and served with ice
Russian vodka with pepsi max and ice, or with orange and ice
    Rum & Oasis

I might indulge in a blitzkrieg - you know, 5 shots of rum in a pint glass over crushed ice, topped off with coke and a twist of lime...

I should change that, i grew up in London, and only lived in Somerset til September this year :p

Although - 2 pints of thatchers cider will get you properly twatted - 14% ABV in each one....and it tastes like rough apple juice!

You lucky git! Being able to buy a 1 gallon keg for £18! Talking of kegs, you tried one of those Carlsberg freezer keg things? They are awesome for when the footie is on! All you have to do is turn your head slightly, can keep one eye on the match and the other on the freezer keg (to make sure nobody tries swiping any of its precious contents )
