I could understand with DDR2000 as it's known to need more VTT.

But for 205Mhz (which I got stable) I needed about in the +220mV range while 200Mhz only needs +100mV, not even to speak about 210Mhz.

Also my CPU needs a lot more Vcore for 4.3Ghz, 1.424~1.44V compared to 1.344~1.36V for 4.2. I'd like a higher Blck however whether I would use it is a 2nd.

My understanding was that the I7's did not like the even multipliers, did you guys try say 19 instead of 20 on the 920 or 21 with the 965, to see if that would allow you to push it higher? I have no problem hitting 200 on mine at 19 and I was booting to 215 with only 1.37vcore, but wasn't even close to being stable, but I bet I can get there. My only problem with going higher than 200 is that my ram is 1600 and so anything higher would require my ram to be overclocked and I am not sure how far it will go, thats the next test.

Stock vcore in BIOS. In Windows it was reading between 1.136 and 1.152.

I'll run some more tests this weekend and see what happens with the temps.

But your CPU speed is rather low, if you're running at 400Mhz+ higher you need to raise Vcore, meaning VTT might start crapping out as it wants to stay in a certain range (I guess).

But does 21x on 920 mean even or uneven multi? In the end you select 20x in BIOS and enable Turbo Boost to have 21x

I could run 20x210 and do one loop of Intelburn Test, BSOD'd the 2nd test. Amount of Volts I needed to have it finish one loop compared to instant BSOD was epic, especially compared to 21x200

That was an earlier Blck run, although my CPU actually seems pretty easy-going so far in those respects. I've got things HyperPi stable at 208x21 right now but temperatures are getting red, so I'm waiting on some WC components before pushing for Prime/IBT stability. But things were stable back when I worked through the upper Blck range with a 20x multi, so I'll see if things are different this time through.

You are under water cooling, right? If so, you have to have a bad mount with those temps or your ambient air is very warm. Either way though, the 160BCLK is not bad with stock voltage.

I believe it is odd in the bios. I run 19 in mine and with turbo I still get x21. The reason why is that turbo works off of the default multiplier to get it's number and therefore 20 or 19 should be 21 under turbo.

Well my TRUE won't be here til next week

any recommendations on OC'ing with the stock cooler? Nothing huge my temps right now are pretty good 39 39 36 36 on the cores, should I tempt fate and bump the Bclk up a little? Or should I just wait for the TRUE to come in and start going wild?

    On stock cooler.

BIOS vcore is set at 1.12v

I re-enabled EIST, and it started throttling again, but I do see the x21 multi. I think I'm going to turn it off, mainly because the extra multiplier doesn't mean much to me right now, and also because I can't stand the throttling.

I have now moved the bclock to 165x21 and it seems to be doing fine so far.

Edit: 165 is giving me errors at stock volts. Going to go back to 160 and no EIST.

I would just wait and not fool with it. Play around with your new toy and once your True arrives then the work can begin.

I am using P06, works great for me. The big thing is getting your voltages balanced with each other. I will post my setting tomorrow sometime when I get a chance. In the meantime, just play around with it, you are gonna love it.

As UT said, 06 is very solid. Although I didnt use any other BIOS, I do know the difference between a bugged/bad/unstable BIOS and this certainly ain't any of those!

OC'ing wise, I'd first test 20x160, 20x180, 20x191, 21x191 or so. That's how I did at least. maybe a bit more VTT but mainly your Vcore is important in this.

After that you could try and raise up your Blck but at least for me this is confusing and gets quite hard.

Just got the board running yesterday, didn't try overclocking until now, and I simply can't. The BIOS options are disabled, as well as others. What's up? I'm on the latest P06.

Having issues on the SAS controller with a single drive. Does the Marvell not allow JBOD; requiring a 2nd HDD?

There are no errors when booting into the bios, it detects the drive, but says "No Virtual Drive". When I attempt to create an array, it refuses because there are not 2 drives. I must be missing a step.
