What about Deadspace? I really liked that game.

Stalker CS was quite a let down. Too structured.

I'm voting for FO3 (Could go either way with L4D) on the poll... but the best, most replayable, and "back to the simple elements that make gaming fun" game of 2008 was Audiosurf.

Competitive, infinite content, cheap, and easy to get friends/family into because the sysreqs are negligible.

I would have voted for Fallout 3 if it wouldn't be for one thing: it's not Fallout 3 but Oblivion 2. In general I feel disappointed with 2008 as far as gaming is concerned...

Look at the poll... there are too many good games to play... if you're disappointed with 2008 then I can't imagine what would be good enough.
