    vGDDR problem- stuck at 0.8v?

    I removed a voltmod from an 8800GTX and now it's stuck at 0.8v. Traces seem fine... not really sure what the problem is. Anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers!

    0.8V sounds like the reference voltage.

    So, my guess is that the regulators equation for the output voltage (often the same on these regulators) is:

    Vout = 0.8V x (1 + R1/R2)

    That means that if you for example damage and/or disconnect R1, the equation will be "0.8V x 1" and you'll be left with your current output voltage of 0.8V.
    Check with a magnifying glass or with a digital camera and some zoom pics, if the resistors near the feedback line of the chip, really all are OK and still well connected. No trace broken or something like that.

    If you need to know how to identify R1 and/or R2, then I would need the regulators datasheet.
