    Talking *** My new SFF (SG01-E) ***

    MotherBoard: DFI LanParty JR P45-J2RS
Graphic Card: ASUS 9800GTX+ with Dark Knight
    CPU Cooler: Scythe Shuriken
    PSU: Corsair HX 620W
    Case: SilverStone SG01-Evolution
CPU, Ram and HardDrive are remove from my old shuttle system~~~~

    Here they are:

    The motherboard:

    CPU Cooler:

    PSU:

    Graphic Card:

    Case, and start installation:

Those are just removed from my Shuttle system:

    In progress~~~

9800GTX+ on! and a bit of cabling:

    replaced the those 2 80mm fans~~

    some rear pics:

    Thats pretty much~~~

DFI's LANParty boot up screen looks quire impressive~~

    oh yeah~~~ finished!

The only problem of it is the CPU cooler (Scythe Shuriken), because it is using the stock clips and with no backplate, which is binding the motherboard~~~ damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice build, but the mounting method is not your only problem: you have the PSU fan pulling air up and the CPU fan pushing it down. I can see a struggle for fresh air over there

It should be easy to mount the CPU fan upside down and thus solving the problem.

    Thanks~~
That should be OK~~~ the CPU fan is not that close to the PSU. The Q6600 is idle at 48'C & load at 63~65'C (my room about 23'C) if I am using the auto adjusted fan speed by BIOS, I think thats OK for a Q6600.
Or I am considering to get a thicker 90mm fan instead of that CPU fan, and hold a 80mm fan rear of PSU.

The Shuriken box reminds me of those Gundam toy boxes from Japan.

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

You really should flip the cpu cooler fan over.

    resolved the binding problem~~~

ah~~! As you can see from the pic the motherboard is binding by the fxxking stock push pins

This is what i got, the Xigmatek Crossbow 775 Backplate:

swap the stock push pins to metal screws with springs:

    those %*^@# push pins:

    the backplate:

done! not binding anymore~~~ looks good, feels good! lol

My room temp is about 26-27, and i think those temps are not too bad for a SFF:

I'm looking to do the same build as you,

    SG01-E
    DFI P45-T2RS

Had a question, what led you to go with the Scythe Shuriken? I have been really in the dark about a heatsink that will fit and perform. I've been looking at Zalman CNPS7700-CU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118115

With the fan not being replaceable on the Zalman is definitely a downfall, although it does come with it's own fan speed controller. I noticed you replaced all yours with noctua fans so that was probably a selling point for you.

If you can shed any light on the performance of the Shuriken and how it may compare to the CNPS7700, that info would be greatly appreciated.

Also if there are any other build notes regarding the case that might be useful, i'm listening

I think Xtreme should start an "Xtreme SFF" section with its own worklog section. I'd like to see what everyone around here has as a SFF. btw, great SFF build

    ok, look~~
    the dimensions of Scythe Shuriken are 105 x 116 x 64 mm
    and the Zalman CNPS7700-Cu are 136 X136 X 67 mm

and look at those pics of my setup (SG01-E + DFI JR P45-T2RS):

The CNPS7700-Cu is wider than Scythe Shuriken at least 20mm, and I'm afraid SG01 can not be closed

Here are some info of Scythe Shuriken:

Appreciate the insight, one more question, where did you get your noctua 80mm fans, and how do you feel they perform?

Hmm, that height is 70mm with just the heatsink, the space allowed according to Silverstone is 82mm.

A standard 120mm case fan is 25mm, a low profile 100mm Scythe fan is 12mm in height. I'm unaware of any other low profile ones and even there effectiveness.

Its a tight fit in there unfortunately!

I do the same sorta build with a sugo 2. You're very lucky your PSU vents from the bottom. I have an antec PSU that intakes air from the back, not the bottom. I put a 25mm thick, 100mm fan on the heatsink and the airflow was less due to the 2-3mm clearance w/ no where for the air to go, either up or down. I'm stuck w/ the stock HSF for the moment.

    Nice build

Just wondering, why did you remove the hdd bay at the bottom? I was going to, but it provided added airflow b/c of the fan and keeps my hdd from being toasty hot.
BP ruined my dinner and my region. (yep, I'm still pissed!)
