    D12SL vs D14SL Yates

I noticed that the 14cm yates are supposedly quieter than the 12cm yates with more airflow can anyone reign in on this.

They have lower rpm which could explain the quiter dba rating but having the same or greater cfm seems unlikely.

I googled for reviews of the D14SL but didn't come up with anything.

Also how are D12BL yates vs. D12SL yates and S flex?
Was looking toward D12BL yates for horizontal mounting since the SL performed so well in test's here similarly to the S flex's yet much cheaper.

    Yeah....

    but

    D12SL-12 47 cfm 28 dba at 1350 rpm

    D14SL-12 47 cfm 25 dba at 1000 rpm

That's a pretty substantial reduction in rpm while keeping the same cfm....just doesn't seem like it's possible.

D14SM-12 supposedly has 62 cfm 29 dba at 1400 rpm.....15 cfm from a 2cm increase in size and 50 rpm...just doesn't make sense to me specially when most 14cm fans seem to ahve same cfm as 12cm with worse dba.

    615.44 cm2<-- area of 14cm fan blades

    452.16 cm2 <-- area of 12cm fan blades

    12cm is 27% smaller than 140mm

1350 x .73 = 991 rpm theoretical, 1000 rpm actual to account for systems not being 100% efficient

I have L/M 140mm YL fans, very little noise difference between the two fans IMO and they are both very quiet fans, currently using the 140mm M as my rear exhaust.

To me the 120mm L is more audible than either 140mm L/M

I have 7 real 120mm Ls so they aren't duff or anything, still quiet though, I have 3 in my bro's CM690 plus a 140mm L, overall just a gentle hum.
