    No power = no folding

On Thursday night there was a crazy ice storm rolling through northern MA. Unfortunately for me, I caught the edge of it and so throughout the night, I heard cracking and crashing branches as they fell all around my house. I was lucky though, nothing hit my house, but like many others in the NE, I don't have any power and most likely won't for quite some time (Monday, at the earliest). So no folding will be coming from me for the next few days as I write this post from a hotel room. Having no power also means no heat, and no water (freezing pipes), and its certainly no fun. Whenever I do get back to my house, I'll be sure to post up some pictures of the storm, it was pretty wild.

I suppose it's a good thing I never got my LCS up and running...

Rise - I'm in your neck of the woods this weekend. The wife and I flew into Logan on Friday and we're staying with friends in Shewsbury. I hear that Northboro is still out of power. We saw all the ice on the trees last night... they even closed the schools on Friday. Hope you get it back on soon, and you have gas heat!

I've been through an ice storm before, and you're right it isn't any fun at all. We had one here in Ohio a few years ago.

i do have gas heat... but the burner requires electricity to turn on! so unfortunately my house is about 40F right now, and it may hit freezing in there tomorrow I just hope the power comes back on soon...

I bet every man and his dog goes to buy a small generator if you don't get power soon else you'll have to rub two boy scouts together

My family had the same ice storm hit them. I was on the phone with them about 2-3 hours ago. They're in NY, around Albany. No power on their street, so my uncle bought generator for my house and my grandma's house (next to each other) and is borrowing a second generator for his house. Most of our neighbors left--since most of us don't have power which means no heat. Tomorrow will be dangerous, though. Most every downed power line should be connected by now, but there's still a chance that some are left. It's expected to get to 50F tomorrow--which is, of course, bad. Especially with all the salt that's bound to be on the streets. I'm in South Florida right now, and I fly back on Friday. Hopefully power & everything will be back up and running.

I hope none of your pipes burst. The nightmare could just cascade. On the bright side, think of the OC potential.

It's about 15F where I am and has been snowing for 2 days solid.

Thanks So far, so good - we are a lot more fortunate than a lot of people out there who have a lot of damage to their homes/cars. We still have no power though and so until we get power back we'll be camping out at a friends place. In a way, it's kind of fun since it's like a long sleep over, but there is most definitely no place like home
