i know that in the gigabyte boards, if you put a huge cpu cooler in, it blocks one of the ram slots
In the R2E thread, it looks as if the latest BIOS has resolved the S3 sleep issue for many so I would imagine that this would/will be the same for the P6T boards.

I looked at the release notes of the latest P6T DLX bios (1102).
It only mentioned resolving memory compatibility issues, no word on S3 sleep issue so I wouldn't count on it.

You cannot run RAID on the Intel ICH10R and concurrently run ANY OTHER RAID (either on the Marvell SAS or any other add-in controller).

This is a BIOS bug, and with ASUS there is no telling when it will be fixed.
Is this still true or has it been fixed?

Sleep mode is broken at or above 170 bclk. Anything higher and it will sleep and resume once, and on the second sleep, it wont resume, and you must hard reboot. (You get a black screen and vid card fan goes full blast).

    Certainly NOT true.
I use SAS adapter, Perc 5/i without a problem, worked flawlessly on all latest 3 bios versions too (09xx,1003,1102).

I had this issue, just disabled sleep mode, why in the world a PC needs sleep mode ?
Just put the screen to turn off after about 15-20 Minutes and its fine for me.

You are spot on - I got the P6T Deluxe to replace two just horrible Gigabyte EX58 Extremes, where S3 sleep mode simply did not work, period (didn't matter what the BCLK is set at). The boards had other issues as well so I got sick of them.

The P6T Deluxe has been considerably better. S3 sleep is not perfect but it does work up to a certain OC level but I don't have any of the other issues I had with the Giga board. And the P6T overclocks every bit as well as the Giga did for me (this was really the only plus of the Giga board).

    I'm an hour into Prime95 small FFT as I'm typing this @ 4.0GHz (19x211 @ 1.4000v) with HT on and 12GB of Dominator DDR3 - not bad.

Anyone having issues setting uclk to anything but AUTO? With even conservative settings (in line with everything else) I get no post if I define the clock. I have no issues defining any of the other settings.

Can I ask you what you are installing on the MB, sound card, raid, graphics?

    "Why in the world"?

I'll tell you why. Because it saves energy. The PC can be set to sleep after 5 minutes, and uses hardly any power at all, and it can be back to the OS in 2 seconds flat. That's why.

Everything on my sig plus i7 920, 6gb OCZ Gold 1600. I asked about dual OS because my previous P5Q Dlx coudn't do it (Express Gate messed it all up). I'll start oc'ing after I finish installing all the software and will update later.

I wonder, is possible to run SLI with top and bottom pci-e 16x slots (i.e. skipping pci-e 16x slot in the middle)
    Sig is under construction

Ok, I broke down and ordered the Open Box deal of the P6T Deluxe on Newegg. If this board comes comletely bare with no accessories, besides the backplane, what else would I be missing that is a must have?

You'll get mobo only. It'll come in a white box w/ foam in anti-static bag.

Yeah, that's what I'm hearing about Asus Open Box from Newegg.

Anything in there I'll be truly missing? Is it hard to order the backplane from Asus?

Not really, I never use anything besides the backplate. But the Q-connector helps a lot.

You can plug all the individual small wires to it, the power on, reset, hd and pwr leds, etc, rather than try to plug each one into the board! Great for those with fat fingers and bad eyesight

Ok, I figured out why the ftp server in the original post that has the BIOS updates does not contain the new 1102 BIOS. It is the wrong location. I used wireshark to find the URL from which the bios is downloaded when you select the global server, and this is the URL:
    http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...ELUXE-1102.zip

But if you remove the filename to just see the directory contents (for newer BIOS updates, or betas and such), it just says file not found. Anybody know how to see the directory contents?

Asus Open Box from Newegg is pretty random. The last two times I ordered one from them, I got the box and all parts. For my old P5B and my new P6T OC Palm edition. So it is up in the air.
