EK Copper VGA WB vs Nickel-plated VGA WB

I am building a new i7 machine with 4870x2. I have found that the 4870x2 is extreme hot (default at 27 fan is ~83 degree C). I am thinking of the EK block. They have 2 versions, Nickel-plated and Copper. Since the nickel-plated version is more expensive, I (kind of) think it's better. But before putting down the $, I would like to hear the expert's opinion first.

Also, the Koolance 4870x2 block claims to be nickel-plated also. Would that be comparative to the EK block? This has cheaper price. Thanks.

The nickel is slightly better, but mainly for bling, honestly either will do the job well

I have both in front of me.
The bare copper gets more dirty and requires maintenance to clean it.

Exactly as Eddy stated. You'll be 100 times happier with the nickel plated unless you like the copper look then be ready to be constantly in there polishing it up. Watch out for finger prints to. The oil from your skin is a killer on them lol.

Thank you for the info. I am sure to go for the nickel-plated one now.

So between EK and Koolance, which one to pick? At FrozenCPU, EK is $40 more than Koolance. I hope there is a definite difference for the 30% premium.

I think there are a few threads that talk about EK mounting issues, But the Koolance were fine. I would search the threads here first.
