performance is very close to a Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz
seems to me like it is slower than Wolfdale @4.0ghz??

IDK either way I have to replace my DDR2 as well. I did a price check on i7 and it would cost more than $700 to upgrade from my 3.8Ghz 9550 and that was with a downgrade from 8GB to 6GB. Now I'd think more about it with 8 real cores and 16 hyperthreading Although I didn't account for selling off old parts.
would it be wise to hold out buying Q9xxx and a P45 motherboard till i5 comes out or should i just go for it
