Laptop with bust screen - use with TFT ?

Right, I have recently been given a Toshiba SA-203 LapTop.

Its got a big block going down the screen, and its near to impossible to use

I have shoved a normal screen onto it in the hope the t I can have access to it through that one, but, it only seems to want to be used as a second screen?

Is there any way that I can force it to display the same as the main screen so I can then physically remove the main screen and just use the TFT screen?

Its a shame to waste the laptop and a replacement screen is going to cost well over a hundred notes and thre is no guarantee that it will cure the Laptop is there - Not sure i'd want to waste a ton on it either actually.

Anything to help would be great,

On my gateway I can switch from the buit in screen to a vga output for a stand alone monitor just by hitting a key, fn+f4 on mine. Most laptops have this feature for aux. monitors or projector outputs.
    The Laws of Thermodynamics say:

Zeroth Law: "You must play the game."
    First Law: "You can't win."
Second Law: "You can't break even."
Third Law: "You can't quit the game."

Do you wanna Play Thermodynamics ???????? I forgot "you must"
