ah also did anyone else got a problem to use the OCZ platinum (all series) series with this board, since this ram can't be sit tight coz of the ram sink hit the ram slot so it won't work. but strange enough mine is only on the c1 socket (the one near the atx power) it's okay with the a1 or b1(2x3gb but only 4gb recognized).
@first i though that the c1 socket is damaged, but when i try to put a g-skill on the c1 it boot up normally and recognized the full 3 channel like it should (2x ocz and 1x g-skill).
this prob shouldn't be a big prob since i can change it to another mem but i just curious that anyone have the same experience like mine.
TY guys.
Sure here you go. I just got another power supply to see if that might have been a issue. But it ran 4 gpu's with no issues. so i highly doubt that was the issue.

What voltages are going to be specific to stabalizing Intel RAID controler during overclock? I was fine for the most part on an OC to 4.2GHz but now on testing of a 4.3GHz profile it is hanging at detecting RAID disc set but if I remove a single RAID 1 from 2nd set it boots fine in IDE mode. Also, what voltage is particular to adding performance to tighter timings at a same set DDR speed 1600. I have QPI freq set as lower of the 3 (7218) and unclk to 3206.

no what i mean by suicide is not the 4ghz even mine 4.2ghz<-->24/7 all the time never turn it off.
what i mean is your VQPI with 1.55volt.
i've read somewhere that it is not so safe but who knows, some also says it safe for 24/7 as long as you stick with 0.5v rules and the right cooling.
i just don't want to play at that level for 24/7, for testing the bclk and mem sure no prob.
Yup this RE2 mb don't like anything over 220 BCLK . I can run LinX also at x21 x 221 BCLK but my fps degrade . At x20 x 220 BCLK is the max out on my RE2 for best performance with my i7 920 . So what we need in for our next cpu is a multi that goes to say x25 or better because with lets say a good liquid cooling we can see 5.0Ghz . So with this board and the 17 920 DO 4.4Ghz is the limit , Turbo Disabled .

Yes it is 1.7 in [RED] on the profile setting. If i try it my pc freezes up and or i get a bootmgr corrupt. If i drop it between 1.50 and 1.60 it is okay. but it seems 1.5 is about the best spot for it on mine. Ran memtest86+ for a few hours and it is fine. Got me wondering what is going on now.......
Sorry to put a link in here but I need to know if anyone else has the same issue with me on this board:

I am experiencing problems similar to you. Im running 12 gb ram and the highest i can run is 1600 on the hyperx 2000 rated ram. I also have a DO stepping. I have to run qpi of 1.6 to 1.7 (not sure exactly what im running now. to get it stable- any less wont post all the ram. I have even tried runing up to 1.85v on the vdimms ( the intel spec sheets i read said this was within spec)- the qpi im running is way over stock though. i would love to get to the bottom of this- maybe its a timing issue. Perhaps we could start a new thread to get some expert information. even when i was running at stock with XMP the ram was never very stable at 2000mhz. i started with 6gb and it was much easier to OC 12 has made OC much more difficult.
Im a noob- this is my first overclocked system- im running REII and a 920 at 3.8 with HT on air. I have gotten it up to 4.2 with HT off, but had a even harder time with the RAM. No real point for me to run it that high yet the games i play dont tax the system at all yet- im totally gpu bound with quad 295 nvidias- im looking forward to the fermi- and im hoping the cards will use more of the cpu.

Since you are running 12gig have you dropped from 1t to 2t and seen what happened? As i would imagine you need to ramp of the volts a good deal on the northbridge for the extra ram you are using. I'm about ready to buy a different brand board and try that though......
cpu id says im currently running 2t. I have never tried 1t. im running 9-9-9- 24 timing now. no effect going beyond 1.65vdim so i leave it at that. qpi is the only thing that helps get a decent OC of 1600.

Some cpu's like certain vtt - vdimm difference, some are less particular. Sounds like your cpu's MCH doesn't like higher (1.55v+) vdimm. I wouldn't think it's your ram especially if it was working fine with your previous cpu. Have you tried adjusting the dram reference voltages to see if they can help?
