Sorry....& thanks for the link to post the pics
It wont happen again......learning curve....don't want to upset anyone

It's a Lian Li V2010...I live in the UK and had to get the Window panel from Germany

I've done some aluminium metal bending & cutting for cable covers...basically it's all hidden

It's running at 4.2ghz Stable.....Temps are CPU 56 degrees and the HD4870 at 32% fan speed is 53 degrees

Only running 4gb Ram @ 1600mhz because I have 1 bad stick that refuses to work

    Super PI 1M = 9.26 secs

Average AVI video conversion to DVD = 6 mins

    Very Happy - Vista 64

i can run my ram at 1700+ 12gb with qpi at 1.3-1.35v it's just at 2000mhz it runs away up to 1.6

psygnosis do you mind to share this bench instead ?

My 24/7 config Rocksolid with or without HT tho i don't use it atm due to gaming.

BSOD 101 often not enough vcore
BSOD 124 sometimes not enough QPI/DRAM voltage (VTT)

Your i7-965 is a C0 stepping so you might have to settle on ~4GHz for a 24/7 OC. Usually that's easily achievable with that chip model. Trying for 4.2Ghz however requires a disproportional large voltage increment compared to 4Ghz.

I know it may feel like disappointment, but if you bought the chip early on you've had the pleasure of almost certainly achieving 4Ghz 24/7, while the guys with the locked multi chips were struggling...of course as time goes on your stuff will be superseded by faster and cheaper stuff.

Here you go. Your settings are really good. I just wanted to run mine at the rated speed of the ram I bought.

    Hi Blaxtr3m3,

If I put it at 21x I'm gonna need watercooling to keep the temps down. Currently looking at the individual watercooling pieces and trying to size up the cost for everything.

Edit: Also, this is a problem I have countered when trying to use lower latency on the sticks, then having one of my dimms fade out. (If you use AUTO this might be the problem, try set em at 9-9-9-24 and vdimm at at 1.65). My dimm fading out on low CAS were fixed by a heatsink reinstall. (One that had more proper pressure on the CPU).

Thanks for you replay, I found the problem and it s one of the Dominator is damaged so I have to RMA it back.

    Thanks again

Did Asus enble .5 BCLK in the official Bios 1504 or something? My BCLK is set to 160 in BIOS like before, but it's actually 160.5, so instead of 3840mhz (160x24), I got 3850mhz. What is going on?

Chips sometimes downgrade , try to bump the voltage some.

My D0 validated at 238 Bclk. I think it may have a little more in it if I could get it a little cooler.
I really don’t know the maximum Bclk that anyone has achieved on a REII though.

Oh man, I had my chip on 1.6v vcore briefly like 15-20s, will this damage my chip? It was on 1.3 vcore, but then I changed the absolute VID to relative VID offset or whatever to see what would happen. And after POST, I went right back into BIOS and saw the vcore was like 1.6v or something, so I freaked out and immediately changed it back to absolute VID and 1.3v. Do you guys know how long it will take a i7 to be damaged by high vcore? I'm very worried right now.
