Thread: 120 vs. 140 radiator tested!

    Maybe I should have tried that, MaddHawk, running the fans at equal speeds. To my mind, that approach isnt' very practical though, because the advantage of larger fans is precisely that they can achieve higher airflow at lower speeds.

    Ultimately, I think it didn't matter much how I tested. The 140 radiator outperforms the 120 by a margin that is, to me, surprisingly large.

    So what 140mm fans do u guys think will b the best? or do u guys think it will be just as "wise" to us a 120 mm fan with a adapter 2 140mm?

    of coz not. 140 rad should be placed on 140mm fans ... but atlast there are more choices of 120mm fans than 140mm ones ...

    140mm choices seems uncommon for now (seems like still uncommon for a few years already)

    Right, i hear ya, my thinking was that with a shroud or an adapter u should see pretty much the same performance (maybe even better with 120 vs 140 because of the low CFM on almost all 140mm fans)
