Sending Email now, found out the wife is not working friday.

@ sampsa If I do get to go you interested in breaking a 939 record? I have the board and the chip to do it, just needs LN2 and some vanilla DDR 400. x2 3800+ is 3.7g, My chip did 3508 ( just enough for the record then ) before i stopped in a copper pipe with a end cap soldered on with DI. Chip doesn not bug like most ( BH )

    This is the board

    bldegle2,

when you mentioned that AMD "tested only three processors from a 30 unit batch", does that mean AMD only sampled 3 chips and took the 6.2GHz one, which leaves 27 untested chips? Or did you mean that they sampled all 30, clocked 3 of them as high as they could manage and picked the 6.2GHz one?

Were sure not getting much info from last nights event. Come on guys give us more........Please....
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

LN2 runs are hard enough on components and the warmup time needed to swap the CPU after a run makes doing 30 separate runs a real pain in the arze....

So I will explain again, they had a bag of 30 processors that had passed the intitial testing at the factory after pouring, cutting, pinning and lidding the raw product, then they picked three ONLY at random from that bag, ran tests on those three alone, and used the best one.......

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

?????????????????? 6.2 on LN2 (1,9v), 4.4 on phase (somewhere close to stock v), 4 gig on air at near stock volts again, DDR2/DDR3 side by side comparison (virtually equal) so you don't have to run out and get a very expensive DDR3 MB, and DDR3....all units at the event were running 4 gig or better.....WPrime run 32bit 6.33 seconds, if that is not enough information to cover most of the bases then.....................

if you want more info's, attend the Chicago or New York event personally......I went to verify what I had heard and have a chance at some product and meet several playa's from AMD.....all of which I accomplished.....

I was actually on the verge of switching over to Intel, but Friday's event put a stopper in that thought, at least for now....

bldegle2: Thanks for all the info, look's incredible!!

I was wondering if you happened to notice what Mobo's they were running though, where they all Gigabyte 790GX boards?

    Any 790FX/SB750's or FX/SB600 boards?

I'm especially interested if there were any MSI or Asus boards used..

    Thanks...Dave

    Amd Deneb Sf Event Details

The Deneb clocked pretty well at 5.8Ghz with LN2, the AMD rep. pushed it to 6.3 on CPU-Z using hopoverdrive though. I wonder why they didn't push it in the bios instead of using overdrive. Bios push was 5.8 with a vcore of 1.92 just pure multi no increase to HT. using Crysis bench, no cold bug even @ -180 wow that was amazing Hey guys have fun in the conference...

    "freebies bldegle2?"

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    List of goodies given away>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

8 Phenom processors (to be delivered Jan/Feb)
    several ATI 4800 series vids
    4 Killer gaming NICs

food and drink hosted, yes, there was free flowing Vodka for those who want to crank the buzz up.....

the other spots, Chicago and Boston should have similiar goodies, and, as I understand it, Fugger (sic?) from Extreme is going to attend the Chicago event (prolly to do independent LN2 runs) and there are going to be some European clockers in attendance too....

    I think that covers it...

almost everyone who stayed in attendance till the end got something......strangely, not everyone who arrived stayed for the whole evening, making the goody haul chances for those who stayed almost 100%....

awesome, thanks for the details. i was planning on staying till 8pm because i have to get up at 4am in the morning to go to work, but i'll stay till the end. i hope i'll get something, but i just want to go to mingle with the folks who work for my favorite company. wow the famous fugger will be there, awesome. i'll definitely shake his hand. i will finally get to see LN2 in action. i've been reading about it for years. btw, stupid question, the invitation says to bring proof of my email. i don't have a business card, so i can use the email from amd as proof? i will be there around 6:30pm tomorrow.

Wait a second - I thought the closest event for me on the East Coast was Boston?! I see a few posts above that they're coming to New York too? Long drive from Maryland, but I may consider taking a train for something like this.

regarding the Email proof, just print out the invite they send back to you and bring it with you, you RSVP from a link in the email, between the two that will be enough to get in, very lax at the door.....just have some ID in case they ask (they didn't)...

    enjoy....

pictures not allowed unless you are one of the hired photog's, doesn't mean you can't sneak around and get a pic or three on the sly with your cell, just not out in the open....

security was pretty lax although security was present, my bud that I invited at the last minute on my tic got in by just saying he was with me at the door, everyone gets a noose w/nametag....
